Not only my first time at Savanh but first time getting Thai period. I expected what I believe most people will expect, something similar to Chinese food. What I received was something totally different. The texture of everything in my Pad Thai was immaculate down to the onions and the peanuts. I loved the sweet and warm taste of the chicken and shrimp. The egg was fluffy and tender. But the noodles are the star of the show. An almost nutty flavor and the perfect balance of chewy goodness, you find yourself holding the flavors on your taste buds and just taking in the moment. I cannot in recent memory remember a better first experience of a restaurant. I am not only full, but I feel complete lol. As much good as I can say about the food, I could also say about the housekeeping, the service, the atmosphere, everything. It is an establishment that is firing on all cylinders and delivers a soulful meal you will not forget.
Be aware that this is not a replica of a Thai restaurant. What they do takes time and skill, and if you can agree to be patient, you will be rewarded with food that is made with the most important ingredient there...
Read moreSharing my experience from this evening… We arrived to a beautifully decorated, homely restaurant. I was delighted to see all the hanging lights. However, our service was less than adequately expected. Our food took quite a while to arrive to our table- having only 2 guests. Others that arrived after us received their food prior to us. When our food arrived, it was mediocre, but enjoyable. At the conclusion of our visit, we paid and requested a receipt. At the front desk, after requesting our receipt, we were harassed for not leaving a tip on the bill. The server, Nicholas H., lectured us about not leaving a tip. His tone and response was rather disrespectful and condescending, as if we have never dined at a restaurant before. After finally leaving him a tip, he told us to not return to the restaurant. It is a customer’s choice to leave a tip; this is why it is optional on the bill. Bullying someone to leave a tip is...
Read moreWorst restaurant I've ever experienced. They charged us $5 for hot water and you have to add protein if you want any meats on the food so the price you are paying at the end is much more than what you see on the menu. and even the added protein is such small amount that I thought they forgot to add the protein. So i asked so they took back the dish and then they came back to me, saying that it had been added already, it was so so tiny small chicken bits that i could rarely distinguish if it's chicken or the sauce or garlic. So basically, they're only seeking for your wallet and oh pad thai, which was about $40, including the tax. There was only noodle and not much of any other ingredients. so if you want to get ripped off, if you have too much money that you want to just give out, then go there and eat. otherwise i wouldn't and morally couldn't recommend it to anyone. Thank you for reading a...
