Ok let's talk about my last and final visit here....I drove over 2 hours because I remember the food being good but this would turn out to be a huge mistake.. I arrived and noticed there was no line so midday around lunchtime this was unusual. I wasnt greeted but barked at by the man behind the counter saying are you ready now? I asked what was the mystery meat in the brown gravy and he replied that's stew...I then asked what's the meat in the gravy next to it and he replied look at the menu board that's pork chops as if I should have already knew even tho it was only small pieces left in the gravy. Feeling rushed I decided to play it safe and just order fried chicken even tho the pieces looked dried out and cold. The man grabbed a fresh pan from the back and somehow proceeded to mix a fresh hot undercooked thigh with one of the dried out cold breast pieces onto my plate...I then asked for mac and cheese and the next server scarfed back at me that's squash no mac until tomorrow ...so I said ok ill just have collards and lime beans because at this point I'm disappointed in the side choices because they only have white rice stewed okra as options. Ok now let's talk about taste! Absolutely nothing was seasoned! The taste was SIMILAR to hospital food or worst....the dried out chicken breast was like chewing gum the greens were tasteless and I just left the lime beans because I couldn't force myself to eat them altho the cornbread was ok. I drove over 2 hours and paid over $15 for a lunch that I will always regret and left out thinking to myself never again that was definitely a waste of time and money...I won't recommend or think I will ever stop here again when passing...
Read moreOmg the service is awesome. The staff is so very friendly, warm and very polite. It was my first time visiting and I was a bit confused about how I order and also the menu. You had your choice of meats and vegetables. There were only 3 meats to choose from and I went with the roast beef and gravy. For my side rice which is placed under the roast beef (counted as a side) and I also had the cabbage as my 2nd side. The meal came with bread of choice (dinner roll or cornbread muffin) I chose the cornbread muffin. The meal also included a drink. I selected a sweet tea. Total came to $17.44 this includes tax. I must say I unfortunately did not enjoy the portion size of the roast beef. I had maybe 4 pieces of meat as they were cut up into chunks. Very tender and tasted a little like it was from a can. The rice was just plain rice nothing too exciting there and the cornbread muffin was too sweet and honestly it didn’t taste fresh. The star of the meal was the cabbage. It was cooked to perfection. The sweet tea was overwhelmingly SWEET you definitely don’t want to drink it without adding water. My rating for the food was 3.2/10 but my rating for the service and the staff 9/10 overall I gave 3stars out of 5. I would have to try this location again to give my opinion of me recommending any of my family or friends...
Read moreHonestly, this review is a little difficult because I think that it is a bit biased and maybe a bit unfair. You see, I have been hearing about this restaurant since it opened. Of course, everyone was raving about the food; but I never got around to visiting. So, of course I thought I would love it too. I wanted to see what all the chatter was about, so I drove the distance to see for myself. It's a cafeteria style setting. I ordered the fried chicken green beans and mashed potatoes tomato slice and cornbread muffin. I am not saying the food was not good...I'm a "foodie" so for me it was ok. I really loved the green beans though.😄 Anyway, I live over 20 miles away so needless to say I probably won't drive that far again just to eat there but if I am in the neighborhood,😉 I would go back and try something different. The area is nice. They have outdoor seating, so that was a plus for me. It was really...
