The best thing I can say about this place from the one experience I've had is that they have a wide selection of rolls, they have a very convenient location, and their ginger is white, indicating a lack of artificial coloring. Unfortunately, my praise stops there. We ordered a Green River roll, chirashi, and miso. The Green River roll comes with avocado on top. The avocado was nasty. Pro tip: if there are black spots in your avocado, you don't have any avocado and should either get more or let your customers know you're out of it. Thankfully, I had my own avocado that I ate with the roll when I got home. The miso was still pretty warm when we arrived to pick all the food up. This would have been good, except it was in the same bag as the sushi. It was sitting on top of the sushi, separated only by a couple of napkins, and all of it was sitting out on a warmish/room temperature table, which means the sushi was not kept cold. We don't know how long it sat out, and it concerned us enough that we ended up cooking the chirashi at home to make sure it was safe. The miso had like 2 little shreds of green onion, 1 little bitty shred of seaweed, and like 5 tiny tofu cubes in 8 oz of broth (yes, I measured it). Overall we were disappointed and probably won't...

The waitresses were nice. I ordered a salad thinking their house salad would be like most Japanese restaurants, but it was literally some regular spring mix with balsamic that tasted like it was from the condiment section of Safeway. They could have at least made their own salad dressing if it wasn't going to be the traditional sushi restaurant salad. Also, I'm used to a small salad and miso soup being included with my sushi roll and they do not do this. The roll was okay but falling apart. I've actually had sushi rolls from the grocery store and it was similar to those. I noticed they had a microwave and I can't for the life of me figure out what they were microwaving that went in sushi rolls. I've been going to sushi restaurants for two decades. Well that pretty much sums up my experience. I guess they stay in business because there's not really much in the area anyway. It seems to be the same quality as most of the other places in Auburn. From now on I will just drive out of my way to go get better...

We've patronized this place several times with us ultimately deciding it's hit or miss and you just have to hope you get the "good" chef.

We ordered takeout a bit back when we had guests and the food was amazing. Flavors accurate to description, shrimp tempura fresh and big, Ingredients generous. It was so good we decided to order 4 of our favorites tonight. Gold Cali was solid and FutoMaki okay. The Lion King would of been good if they hadn't used stale "shrimp" tempura (very small/barely there shrimp) and the FBI was a flop, tasted very different, barely had krab on top and most of the tempura lacked any shrimp with the stale, overcooked taste for what was there.

In the past we've had bad luck with lunch bentos to the point we just don't order during lunch. After tonight I'm think maybe just stick to weekends. If they're on their game, they're definitely one of the better options and can be very delicious but if they're not it's an expensive...
