I wish I could leave 0 stars for this place. I took my wife and two young daughters (both under the age of ten) here to celebrate after I did well on a final exam at school. At first everything seemed fine. We were seated promptly. Our waitress, Megan, got our drinks out fast. We noticed a group of six young caucasian women come in about fifteen minutes after we did. I mention the race of the women only because it is pertinent to my story. (My wife, kids and I all have different shades of brown skin). Megan seemed to be extremely busy as she was covering at least three or four tables that we could see. We tried to give her the benefit of the doubt as to why our order was taking so long. As soon as I began to notice that my wife was getting annoyed by the amount of time we were waiting, here comes our waitress Megan with a plate of food. Only, she didn't stop at our table. Instead, she continuted past us to the group of young women and served them. She then proceeded to bring the entire order to the other table. I examined the food items that were brought out hoping that maybe that our order may have been more complex and that may have been why were were not served yet. Unfortunately, the order that was brought out to the other table contained just as many differentiated plates, if not more because it was six people. As my restless three year old rocked around in her seat and asked me where her cheeseburger was I struggled to come up with an excuse as to why this may have happened. We decided to ask for our bill as it was, (I had a beer sampler), and cancel the rest of our order. I really hope that this was a mistake. The worse part is, when we informed our waitresss that we wanted to cancel our order, not only did she half-heartedley "apologize", she was smirking while doing so. It was as if she was happy we were leaving. I guess I would consider myself to be an optimist. I really hope that Megan isn't a rascist person. I have many white friends who have blonde hair and blue eyes just like our waitress, Megan, so I know there a lot of great people out there. As we drove away and my young daughters asked why we didnt get our food I couldn't come up with an explanation. Megan, if you're reading this, I really hope you just had and off night and don't have a problem with black and brown people. That's how you made us feel. We will not be returning to this location. We still like eating at The Rock in Covington and Renton, but tonight, sadly, we are going to McDonalds. I usually don't leave reviews at all, good or bad, but this hurt and was...

It was Sunday night, maybe 10 tables filled. I counted 3 servers, plus the hostess and bartender. Still, they were slow taking orders, serving food, etc.
It was our Friday, so a celebration of the end of the work week for us. The wifey ordered "vodka with a splash of cranberry juice" because she does not eat sugar, and everything tastes sweet to her if there is any sugar. She got a glass of cranberry juice with a whisper of vodka hiding somewhere around the glass. I had to take the drink to the bar and have it remade. The bartender told me that the server asked for a "cranberry and vodka." Strike one. I ordered their brand of dark beer. Can't recall the name. It's described as a malty, balanced beer with chocolate notes. It was sour. I'm not sure if the keg turned bad, but I've had my share of dark, chocolaty brews, and this was horrible.
So, we ordered wings as an appetizer, wifey got a personal sized pizza, I got a 12 inch pizza. 2 different sizes. We waited at least 20 minutes for the wings. They were good, but given the amount of patrons, it should not have taken nearly as long. When we got the pizzas, they were the same size. I asked the server what size they were, she said personal sized. Remember I ordered the bigger size, but got a personal instead. Strike 2.
The wifey order a margarita to finish off the night, ordered it "not sweet, please." She got the sweetest margarita I've ever tasted. Either their bartender has no clue how to make a drink, or they are not allowed to deviate whatsoever from the recipes. Either way, it was a complete waste of $11.
Now, I do enjoy their pizzas. However, with their slow service, their inability to make a decent drink, and their sour, bad version of beer, they really have no business doing anything other than takeout, which is what I will do if I want their pizza.
We should have gone to Hop Jacks, which is 30 seconds away, and who has Happy Hour every day. This is what we will do to celebrate the end of the work week from now on. Sorry Rock, you...
Read moreMy friends and I were eager to go to a pizza place during our visit to Lake Tapps & decided to drive to Auburn. The evening started promisingly with a delicious appetizer that had us excited for the main course. However, our experience took a turn for the worse when it came time to order drinks. Being 22-24 years old, we naturally handed our IDs to the waitress. To our surprise, she went back to check them and then refused to serve us because we were out-of-state visitors & our IDs didn't look real (we are attending a wedding for a friend who grew up in Lake Tapps & all have traveled from neighboring states.) This seemed unfair and unwelcoming. The manager eventually approached us with a rather confrontational "Is there a problem?" We explained our situation - that we wanted to dine here but couldn't order any drinks due to our out-of-state IDs. The manager engaged in a lengthy argument with us before finally deciding to do more research on our different IDs from states like California, Idaho, Utah, etc. After a 15-minute ordeal, he eventually said, "I'll let it slide this time." Frankly, this felt more like a passive acknowledgement of our valid and legal IDs rather than an act of goodwill or an apology. The disrespect we received from both the waitress and the manager left a sour taste in our mouths. We decided to leave, but not before asking for the bill for our appetizer. Surprisingly, the manager decided to comp it, which we did appreciate. The appetizer was undeniably excellent, but it couldn't overshadow the unpleasant experience of being treated disrespectfully and spoken to in a...
