My wife and I had dined several times at International Cafe when it was called India Cafe, but recently returned for the first time in several years, joining another couple that are regular patrons. And just as in times past, we had a wonderful dining experience. International Cafe is owned and operated by a sweet couple named Mary and Sebastian. Mary does the cooking while Sebastian does most of the serving. Let me say up front, that this is not the place for those in a hurry, but it is a great place for those looking for a relaxed evening with wonderfully prepared food at very reasonable prices. One of the great things about International Cafe is that Mary will adjust the spiciness of most dishes to the customer's preference. Our friends recommended the Spinach Pakoras with Cilantro Chutney as an appetizer, and they made for an excellent starter for our dinner. All 4 of us had something different for our main course and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My Lamb Vindaloo was super tender and delicious with just the right level of spiciness. If you have never been to International Cafe, or haven't been there in a while, I highly recommend it. I know that we will not be waiting years to return before...
Read moreGreat Indian Food and way better value than Taj of India of Fury Ferris Rd. Taj of India's food is good, but they're way more expensive and give smaller portions. At Taj of India, if you order Aloo Ghobi (spiced potato and cauliflower) it'll be around $22 for a single portion and the naan is separate. At India Cafe, you'll pay $15 dollars for a serving big enough to feed two people, with naan bread included in the price, and they'll give you a delicious brownie for free with every meal. The food even tastes better than Taj of India, and they give you more for less. Also the owners are very hospitable, and love to converse with their patrons. The owners/management at Taj of India has a more "hurry up and buy so you can leave my establishment" type of attitude that I don't like. The only thing I hate about India Cafe is their minimal hours of operation and that they are closed on Mondays in which case... I am unfortunately forced to give my business to Taj of India as a last resort option to...
Read moreWell, it’s not as impressive as it looks in the picture. Food, don’t want to talk about it.it seems there is a staff of three. At least if I am not mistaken I saw three people behind the kitchen entrance door when I had to tap on to have their attention that I was there for dinner. I asked for lamb qorma which was a combo of rice + vegetables. Nan/ roti would have been additional charge, glad did not ask for it. Lamb qorma was ridiculously not worth eating. Indians don’t know how to cook meat. Any Indian restaurant, please never try a meat dish. They are not meat eater, hence they don’t know how to cook. Don’t understand why they offer/ serve meat curry/ qorma. Would any one , please tell them not to have meat dish on manue. For “Bhagwan” sake don’t pick-pocket the customers. And yet man the owner did not seem to be considerate and charged me full and on the bill suggesting the tip as well. Come on man! Never Never Again! Good luck with your...
