Ephesus Greek and Turkish Restaurant in Augusta offers a delightful dining experience with a menu featuring authentic Mediterranean dishes. Popular items include gyros, kebabs, and baklava, all praised for their fresh ingredients and rich flavors. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Customers appreciate the prompt service and the option to enjoy a variety of appetizers, like falafel and cigar pies. Don’t miss out on their Turkish coffee and desserts for a perfect finish to your meal! #greek #mediterraneanfood #shawarma #dinner #tzatziki #pitabread #yum #augusta #georgia #localfood

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but I felt like I should. First, the food is extremely tasty. However, this is a great example of how no matter how good/great the food is, the entire experience can be ruined by non-cooking related things. We’re from out of town, just looking for some Greek food. We (my spouse and two children) visited on a Thursday early dinner time, we were the only table for a good portion of our time there. It had to be 80+ degrees inside (90+ in the bathrooms). We debated the etiquette of asking if they could turn on the AC split unit behind us. Finally we decided to ask, and the waitress said she would but gave some explanation indicating that it would just bring in the hot air from the kitchen. I never saw the AC unit turn on. Also, yes tables were extremely sticky as some others have pointed out. Food portion-to-price ratio was not what we were expecting. More on par with a high end restaurant, but with none of the amenities of such a restaurant. The food was truly delicious. But where we ordered a $43 platter, we received a $22 portion. Expectations always skew things, but compacted to any average $15 meal restaurant, we did not get $43 worth of platter. My wife and I had hoped to split the platter between just us, but after seeing the prices, we decided to just share with our 5 year old. My son asked for a salad (instead of fries!) with his gyro wrap, and I knew he wouldn’t like the tzatziki sauce as a salad dressing. So I requested ranch instead. When we got the bill, they charged $1.50 for ranch for his salad. Perhaps their side salad doesn’t include a dressing, but that was not explained. Nor did we ask, so I paid the bill. I have no idea of theirs financial stability or how long they’ve been in business, but with all the dining room issues, over priced and up charged items, not willing to properly cool the dining room, it felt like they’re trying to scrape by due to lake of customers.

Travelling for work, back in the town that I grew up. Always love heading down to Broad St, but my hotel was off Washington Rd. and I-20 and it was a long day. There are some great places to eat in Augusta, and even though one of my favorites (Rhinehart's) was close, I opted for a new place (for me). Ephesus Restaurant was nice & close, and I love Greek/Med food. You have to really keep an eye out for it as it sits behind another restaurant right off Washington Road, sort of caddy-corner across from Rhinehart's. If you see Jay's Music then you are in the right parking lot. Strangely, there was only one other customer dining in while I ate. I did see quite a few pick-up orders go out however. Don't let that stop you. I started with the Cigar Pies. These warm and tasty items were simply Filo dough filled with Turkish feta and parsley. Think Mediterranean cheese stick! For my main I had the Shawarma. In addition to tzatziki they also offered hummus which I went with. Everything tasted fresh and was piping hot. Service was awesome as well. Since the company was picking up the tab, I also ordered a frosty cold one--a Mythos, which was a very pleasant lager. I really wanted another but was pretty full after the meal. I had difficulty finishing everything, should have skipped the app but glad that I didn't. I may or may-not have allegedly ordered baklava to go.... On the next trip down with the Fam we will definitely be hitting this spot.

Finally had the chance to try Ephesus Mediterranean Restaurant tonight. We arrived just after 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were the only customers. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms) and the service was quick and friendly. Before we left, two other parties arrived.

My wife had the Shrimp Casserole, which was excellent, but a bit pricey at $17.95. I had my "goto" entree for any new Greek/Turkish restaurant - the Gyro Wrap - it was $10.50. The final bill was a bit of a surprise in that the fries with the wrap was an up-charge of $1.99, and the extra tzatziki sauce was another $0.95. Soda's were $2.00 each (normal for a table serve restaurant. Add in a $7.00 mediterranean salad and the total was $45 with tax.

Again, the Shrimp Casserole was very good - we would rate this entree a 5 star and would definitely order again . The Gyro wrap, on the other hand, wasn't as good in my opinion. The lamb/beef meat was seasoned well and the taste and texture was pretty good but the veggies in the wrap were surprising. I mentioned above the mediterranean salad - the rest of the wrap's filling was the very same mix of lettuce, tomatoes, and mint vinaigrette with the addition of onions. In my opinion, it just didn't go well with the meat. The tzatziki sauce, was rather bland compared to other restaurants in the CSRA and also didn't quite go with the flavors of the meat and veggies.

Because the Shrimp Casserole was so good, we'll be back to try the other entrees.

Ephesus is definitely worth a try to see if your taste-buds find something they'll like.

I visited on Saturday, 3/15/25, for dinner. Ephesus is a must visit Greek & Turkish restaurant that truly stands out! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with warm hospitality that sets the tone for an exceptional meal.

Be sure to start your meal with their appetizer sampler, a delightful spread that offers a taste of several traditional Turkish starters. From creamy hummus, tzatziki, smoky baba ghanoush, to refreshing ezme, flavorful stuffed grape leaves, and delicate cigar pies, every item is prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic spices. It's the perfect way to explore a variety of flavors before diving into their incredible main dishes.

The kebab platters are absolutely phenomenal — perfectly seasoned, tender, and grilled to perfection. Each bite bursts with rich, authentic flavors that transported me straight back to my visit to Turkey last year. The rice is so buttery delicious without feeling heavy, and the salad brings the perfect amount of freshness! The quantity provided in the platter is more than enough to share between 2-3 people!

Don't leave without trying their kunefe! It's hands down one of the best I've ever had! Definitely opt into getting it with ice cream which has pistachio crumbles on it, as it completes the experience! It's sooooo good you won't want to share!

The service is equally impressive. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure your experience is nothing short of perfect. Ephesus is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression no matter what the occasion.

Highly recommend visiting if you're in the...
