Ordered food last night Aug 10 2016. and picked up within 15 minuets (they said it would ready in 10). Went in and they couldn't find my order, order number, phone number, name...Nothing. They actually asked me if I was sure I was at the right restaurant granted I've ordered and picked up at this location several times. They finally said, "Sir this was already paid for and picked up"...
well
I didnt pay for it nor did i pick it up! They then realized that they gave my order to someone else by mistake. Lady manager called customer that picked up wrong order in front of me, apologized profusely to them for the mistake and told them she would give them a future credit, or they can keep wrong food and come in another time for right order, or bring back altogether for right order. Not sure what customer on the other end said.
So here is the messed up part...she apologized profusely to them and offered so much. But when I said that they messed up my order, gave to someone else, made me wait another 15 mins to remake my order while my kids are waiting at home for dinner and I didn't even get an apology! She said...and I quote..."Wow, you are mad? But sir this happens sometimes" she offered me no credit, no discount bc of their mistake...I was offered nothing and paid full price for my order...while she offered so much to the person who got my order by mistake. I wasn't looking for free food...but an apology and maybe a small discount or free appetizers to make up for what I had to deal with...would have been nice...but nothing. Then when I said I order all the time and after today will not come back...the manager says again..."Wow, ok" and turns around and goes in the back.
Needless to say, it seems they are confused on how to make things right with BOTH customers in this situation. I am very disappointed that the manager...
Read moreOn yesterday, I came into East China Inn restaurant with my mom for lunch. I had a male waiter who was a bit too mouthy with us and I have been having this problem with the waiters since the first time coming in to dine in the past three weeks.(both male) First the waiters who are male come off as stereotyping with comments that I didn’t appreciate ( my first time in I was ordering what I wanted and the waiter kept trying to direct me to the lunch menu, but the lunch menu didn’t have what I wanted. So I continued ordering what I wanted and he kept saying that what I was ordering cost too much money, so I looked up and said, I have a job and I can afford to pay for what I want. That waiter apologized and left me alone.) On yesterday we came in and ordered each what we wanted and the waiter ( an older man) said, what you order will feed 3 people each and we just looked at him because we live in two different places, two different towns (my mom in Naperville and myself In Rochelle) and we wanted enough to take home. My point is let me order what I want and stop treating me like I can’t afford what I am ordering, I am not poor just because I’m African American. Anyway, I never leave a tip for lunch but I will leave a tip during dinner hours, that’s my preference. The waiter on yesterday was offended that I didn’t leave him a tip and brought the receipt back to our table trying to make me leave a tip, and of course I said NO! You can’t make me give you a tip!! He walks off loud talking me and I thought to myself, what a JERK!! I won’t ever dine here again!!! The food is very good but my service was not, the male waiter needs to learn how to treat ALL people and then maybe I will consider a tip! Just respectfully, close your mouth and allow me to place my order and stop treating certain people like they can’t afford what they...
Read moreMy grandson age 6 has never eaten in, always take-out! so a few weeks ago after the movie's we came in to eat. Matty had never experienced what I called "friendship tea..." So I shared with him a pot of tea, before our food came. He loved pouring our tea... Needless to say, he loved the choices he picked from the vast menu. We really enjoyed ourselves. He was very much a gentleman, asking me, (his grandma-map;) (Pam being my name), if he could also serve the food from the delicious dishes brought to us. He said it was so different than the neatly packed white boxes we take home. He loved the atmosphere there, and especially the Koy fish in the large tanks...
