In my recent culinary expedition, I found myself at this venue that boldly defies the conventional dining experience, a place where time bends and the unexpected flourishes. If you possess a penchant for patience, prepare to embrace extended wait times that are not merely a minor inconvenience, but rather an exhilarating test of one's resolve—often exceeding expectations by a delightful 20 minutes or more.
Upon finally receiving your order, one might anticipate a gastronomic revelation. Instead, the sushi arrives at a comforting room temperature, a choice that seems to transcend the boundaries of traditional Japanese cuisine. This unique approach offers a profound opportunity for introspection as one contemplates the complexities of taste and temperature, elevating the experience to a philosophical plane.
Furthermore, the wasabi, whipped into a soft cream, provides a whimsical yet perplexing twist. It encourages diners to reconsider their preconceived notions of flavor. In this realm, even the hints of cleaning chemicals present an intriguing layer—an audacious reminder of the restaurant's commitment to hygiene, albeit one that disrupts the delicate dance of taste.
I, for one, will never be back. In a prudent act of foresight, I saved a few pieces of everything I ordered for submittal to the local authorities, should the unfortunate consequence of illness arise.
In summation, for the adventurous spirit eager to explore the depths of culinary possibility, this establishment serves as an intriguing case study in the art of dining. It is not merely a meal; it is an invitation to ponder the very essence of food, time, and experience. For those unafraid of the unconventional, this restaurant could very well be your new paradise—but for me, the...
Read moreWith a name like, "Pirate Sushi", you have no idea what you're in for. But I was pleasantly surprised.
The service left a bit to be desired. For example, I needed to ask for a napkin, which I thought was odd that there was no silverware at the table either. However, the waitress seemed genuinely apologetic and rectified the situation immediately.
The edamame was an additional charge to the lunch special, but it was a generous portion and perfectly made.
I had the 3 roll special that came with meso soul and salad. I passed on the salad since I had ordered the edamame and enjoyed the soup immensely.
The rolls were also a very generous serving size. They were well made and did not short on the ingredients. When the rice holds together as you dip, there's clearly been some attention to detail. I've had rolls collapse into the soy and it just turn into a mess. *Special mention for the Boston Roll
All-in-all, this was an excellent meal for the price. I'll forgo issues with service, so long as you bring your a-game when it comes to the food. Pirate Sushi definitely delivered on the quality & quantity of food. I'm looking forward to my next opportunity...
Read moreWith a name like Sushi Pirate I was a little skeptical if this place was legit but I saw they were highly rated and decided to go for it since they are close to home. I ordered the party platter of rolls, and it was excellent, got a ton of food for $60, enough for at least 4 hungry people for sure. The sushi rolls were delicious and the price was good. The sushi came on a very sturdy aluminum platter (so no dropping it or having it flex and bend) with a nice floral pattern, and they had some pretty flowers they placed inside alongside the rolls. Really nice presentation. I ordered online and drove and paid and picked up, sushi was ready for pickup when they said it would be, very nice and easy. I also saw they have 30% off on Sundays which will be nice. No discounts on the platters I believe but the platters are already at a good price point. Zero complaints and the price was good; this is going to be our new go-to place for sushi take...
