Shark's Fish Chicken — Restaurant in Aurora Township

This was my 1st time here. And there is no doubt it was my last. The fish is deep-fried with cornmeal. I had the perch since there was no cod on the menu. It was so overcooked that the fish melted into the coating. And could barely be seen. The cornmeal coating was far too crunchy that someone could break a tooth. And the fries were undercooked, in a few fries they were hard in the middle. While others were soaked in oil and soggy. We threw out half our meal. Then we tried the desserts. Three of them. A strawberry cheesecake. Red velvet cake and butter cookies. I don't even know what the red stuff on my cheesecake was. I was reluctant to try it. But I did. All I can say is that it kind of tasted like strawberry topping. The cheesecake itself tasted as if it had been in that plastic container for a while. It wasn't until I got to the center of it that it tasted good. Creamy not too sweet. The red velvet cake had the same problem. It has been sitting in the container for far too long. Except for the center of this cake was mushy, almost wet. It went into the garbage too. Now the butter cookie was a different story altogether. It was delicious. Exactly what a homemade butter cookie should taste like. The desserts were from an outside vendor. And as far as the atmosphere, I give it two thumbs down. I had to ask them to clean my table. I'm glad I stopped here. Service was prompt and the gentleman at the register was really nice. I ordered the large chicken tender and small chicken Gizzard meal. There was a couple in front of me.He said about 10 min and it was right on time.The portions are very big and the breading was crunchy not oily. He asked if I wanted lemon pepper seasoning for both. I figured you don't ask unless it's popular. Boy it did not disappoint imo. Super fire! The coleslaw was good, it's very simple. If I had to "complain" the only thing I was just ok with was the fries. Only reason why is I like mine more crispy. They were still good though. Both the mild (bbq?)and hot (thicker style of a Louisiana mixed with Frank's?) sauces were good. For the price and portions it's definitely worth the try. Wasn't sure at first as the place was empty, but then we each ordered the 2 choice combo meal with chicken tenders and catfish nuggets and hush puppies on the side. It was delicious! Fish was crispy and fresh, tartar sauce was good, the fries were amazing, so crisp and tasty! Hush puppies were a little soft on the inside, not the best I've had but pretty darned good. Everything tasted very fresh and good and it was a good portion of two big chicken tenders and a lot of catfish nuggets for a very fair price . Could have probably split an order.
