Title: "A Spectacular Voyage of Greek Gastronomy at Athenian Restaurant"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There are meals that satiate hunger, and then there are dining experiences that fill the soul. My recent visit to Athenian Restaurant decidedly belongs to the latter category. This enchanting Greek restaurant is more than a dining spot - it is a beautiful journey to the heart of Greece, with authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and an ambiance that will transport you straight to the azure Aegean shores.

Upon entering Athenian Restaurant, you're immediately embraced by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The decor exudes a rustic Greek charm, with intricate murals and picturesque landscapes adorning the walls, softly lit by traditional lanterns. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a quaint taverna nestled in the narrow lanes of Santorini, and it is delightfully refreshing to be enveloped in such authenticity so far from Greece itself.

The menu is a dazzling array of traditional Greek dishes, each promising an adventure of its own. The Moussaka, a heavenly layering of eggplant, seasoned meat, and creamy béchamel sauce, was a standout. It was a testament to the skillful balance between complex flavors and textures, characteristic of Greek cuisine. The Dolmades, stuffed vine leaves, were packed with vibrant herbs, a treat not just to the taste buds but a multisensory experience.

What truly sets Athenian Restaurant apart, however, is their souvlaki. Tender, marinated meat skewers grilled to perfection, served with tangy tzatziki and warm pita bread, is a dish that could easily rival any culinary creation from the most acclaimed gourmet restaurants. The Pastitsio, a rich and indulgent pasta dish topped with ground meat and cheese, provided an excellent savory balance to the souvlaki.

The culinary journey would not be complete without mention of their dessert. The Baklava was a flaky, sweet marvel, delicately layered with honey-soaked phyllo and a spiced nut mixture, presenting a perfect end to the meal.

The staff at Athenian Restaurant was remarkably courteous and knowledgeable. The warmth and eagerness to share the rich stories behind each dish enhanced the dining experience manifold, bridging the gap between diner and culture, making it a more personal, enjoyable voyage.

Whether you're a fervent lover of Greek cuisine or a curious foodie looking to explore, Athenian Restaurant provides an unforgettable culinary trip to Greece. This restaurant's commitment to tradition, quality, and hospitality makes it a treasure in the local food scene. I eagerly anticipate my next visit and heartily recommend Athenian Restaurant to anyone who cherishes remarkable food and an equally outstanding...

It was my first time eating here and definitely my last. I was seated quickly and approached by the waitress immediately who took my drink order. I was barely given 60 seconds to look at the menu before the waitress came back asking if I was ready, which you could tell I was still trying to figure out. So I quickly ordered the spanakopita plate the ingredients were not listed on anything so I politely asked for tomatoes on my salad or the plate I ordered she nodded and took my order to the kitchen. The waitress came back in a matter of seconds with the salad and as she placed it down in front of me she was like oops no tomatoes. There was literally 2 cherry tomatoes so I told her not to worry about it I can pick them out. She assured me no tomatoes on my spanakopita plate and went to the kitchen to remind them as well. About 2 minutes later she brings me the plate which has quite a few diced tomatoes on it and tomato juice. I politely reminded her that I asked for no tomatoes. She takes it to the kitchen and as I watch the gentleman in the back picks off the tomatoes and sends it back out. At this point I'm frustrated I had to say no tomatoes more than once and it was like they ignored that part even though it was on my ticket and the waitress reminded the kitchen staff and the waitress was in such a hurry that she wasn't paying attention to the food she was bringing out. I politely asked for my food to be made over because the tomatoes were picked off and we're very juicy leaving that overwhelming flavor of tomato that I specifically asked not to be on the plate. She took my plate back to the kitchen this time frustrated with me, however this entire situation would have been avoided from the very beginning if they actually paid attention to the ticket and if she would have done her job by checking the plate before bringing it to the table. From that point forward the lack of customer service went down hill. I had considered getting dessert but was given my check immediately and when cashing out at the register I was given bad looks and could sense their bad vibes and attitude towards me because of the situation. Overall I was not satisfied with this experience or the food and see no reason...

There are restaurants where one goes to sate hunger, and then there are those exceptional establishments where every visit is a curated journey, a love affair with culinary excellence. The Athenian restaurant is unreservedly of the latter kind. As a zealous food lover, I feel compelled to share the exquisite dining experience that the Athenian offers, and specifically, the superb service provided by Cheyenna, an embodiment of unparalleled hospitality.

Firstly, one must begin by admiring the genius and effort behind every dish on the Athenian menu. The flavors encapsulate the very essence of Greece, transporting you to the sun-drenched Aegean landscapes with every bite. Each dish is a symphony of taste and texture, playing harmoniously to the senses, creating an intoxicating savor that lingers delightfully.

Just as important, if not more, is the outstanding service led by Cheyenna. From the moment you step into the Athenian, Cheyenna’s hospitality shines brighter than the gleaming Parthenon on a summer's day. Her knowledge of the menu is encyclopedic, her recommendations spot-on, turning the process of choosing what to eat into an enticing prelude to the dining experience.

Cheyenna not only took us on a culinary journey through Greece but also painted vivid, colorful anecdotes about the food, the ingredients, and their origin, adding an extra dimension to the dining experience. Her ability to anticipate our needs, the pace of service, and her engaging yet unintrusive demeanor are testaments to her expertise in the art of hospitality.

Under Cheyenna's warm and attentive service, the Athenian is not just a restaurant but a welcoming home. It's where delicious food, meticulously prepared, meets service that is nothing short of poetry in motion.

In conclusion, the Athenian does more than just serve excellent Greek food. Thanks to the impeccable service led by Cheyenna, it offers a genuinely Greek dining experience. The Athenian is not a mere restaurant; it's an ode to Greek gastronomy, a celebration of Hellenic hospitality, and, above all, a must-visit culinary...

I think we caught this place on an off day, perhaps. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the smell of mildew. We live in a dry climate, so if you smell something wet, there's a larger issue. I could tell they clean what they could, as the pinesol smell was there. We ordered the Greek Combo ($19.50) so we could try each meat. It came with pork souvlaki, chicken kabob, gyro meat, and one pita. The flavor was there, but the meat was not fresh. The chicken and pork were so dry that they didn't give me enough tzatziki to moisten the meat so I could get it down. It was most definitely reheated. The gyro meat was more forgiving in the reheating process. I don't understand why items would need to be reheated as it seems like a busy place that would alow items to be pre preped and cook fresh. We decided to try the Ekmek cake. At $11/slice, it should not disappoint, right? It started off strong, the bottom was warm with the syrup, the cake should have soaked up, and the whipped cream was cold on top. Once we got to the center, we hit the ice. So the cake is brought in frozen? Such a disappointment that 1/3 of an $11 cake slice was an ice pop. Unfortunately, I will not be back. There are so many other places that aren't as expensive and deliver a quality meal that won't disappoint. Photos were an afterthought, but I grabbed a picture of my chicken jerkey.
