I originally called in to ask if I could wait there and do some school work while I waited for my car next door that I had an appointment, and of course to buy drinks and food as needed. The woman on the phone was brief but kept repeating herself saying I had to buy something which I had originally stated I would. Which I had planned to have coffee and a breakfast sandwich as my appointment was in the morning and the atmosphere seemed better than the dunken donuts across the street. When I arrived the woman at the front sat at talked to another woman not sure if she worked there or not for about 7-10 minutes before even acknowledging me. Didn’t think too much of it, and asked for the denver toast with no cheese but add avocado, I asked about WiFi, and stated that the WiFi code is at the bottom of the receipt, being hopeful I tipped over 25% spending nearly $20 on a small drink and a sandwich. She called my orders at the front to come pick it up, and staying optimistic I received my sandwich hot and fresh, good amount of avocado, good amount of egg, ham, no cheese as requested (allergy), yet absolutely no bacon. I was going to perhaps buy more items to go, but then noticed the difference in my treatment versus the other customers that came in. While I was eating, next door at the ramen place which is just adjacent connected by an open doorway, they used a very strong smelling cleaner for the floor, highly scented and it started to give me a headache, and I don’t get headaches easy. I had to cover my nose I was about 4 yards away from this doorway. As time progressed and I am working on my project with my battery pack as there are no outlets. I noticed she thanked everyone else but I didn’t receive the same service. Dare I say she is racist? Because everyone else had different treatment and nicer tone and patience than she gave me. Far quicker service and more hospitable. I really wanted to love this place, and make it maybe one of my favorite places to study or to bring my clients to, as it has a wonderful aesthetic. I have a lot of clients and I would have really loved to bring business here. But not with how I was treated and the inability to even at least to tell me she didn’t have bacon. But to top it off, I could hear her in the back talking to whomever that I did in fact notice no bacon, and that I was then covering my face because the smell of the cleaner was very strong. I was here at the max amount of one hour and wasn’t even thanked for my service, the tip or even acknowledging that I was a customer, yet every single other customer had a different experience she went out of her way to acknowledge them thank them or be attentive to. Unfortunately I will probably get better service at dunken donuts and this cafe will not get my business, nor will I tell any of my clients. Leaving this review makes...
Read moreHi, I have been coming here since the place opened and have been actively supporting this cafe for a while since it provided the comfortable environment I needed to focus. I would like to consider myself a local since I frequent this space so often. The drinks are always SO good and the staff have never treated me with nothing less than kindness and attentiveness. They always go above and beyond in their service and are a big part of the reason why I feel so comfortable at coffee story compared to other places. For the long time I have been coming here, I have noticed that they are responsible and RARELY ever leave the counter which makes me wonder if they even get the breaks they deserve especially seeing how hectic it can get. It's admirable and they definitely deserve a raise for how welcoming and dedicated they are. That is not easy to see at any customer service job nowadays so I really hope management is taking good care of their staff that do so well in creating such a wonderful environment. I have always enjoyed coming to coffee story since it is so relaible, however, recently I have been noticing a few displeasing changes. I have noticed that since the opening of the new ramen shop next door, there has been a crack down on the Wi-Fi password and is inconveniently changed daily which feels burdensome to keep asking for everytime I purchase something - especially since the bathroom code is periodically changed too, it feels like I am needlessly begging for endless codes that I can barely remember now. I figured there must have been a good reason for that so I brushed it aside but after my recent visit I have noticed that ALL the accessible plugs - which are already so few - have been blocked off. Though I don't know the reason for this, it definitely is next level extreme. It almost feels like the customers are being punished, since it is so sudden and I personally have never seen this happen before. It just sucks because like I said I come here so often and a lot of the time I end up needing to charge my device so it takes that away from me. It makes me not want to spend any time there if I am not provided with even the basic plug. I truly hope this is just a temporary issue and is fixed soon, I would hate to take my business elsewhere as I am very fond of...
Read moreThere's just something about this place that continues to make it miss the mark and always tread being lukewarm. Maybe its the location, maybe its the management. But for whatever reason, the service is often subpar. It's probably the least friendliest barista and staff I've ever encountered at a coffee shop. No greetings, barely any eye contact at that. Not all of them of course, but it really stands out, especially compared to other places. The food is okay. The coffee is also just meh. And meh attached to these prices is unsatisfactory. The atmosphere just feels off. Not terrible, but not cozy. It's an alright spot to meet people depending on the time (I've noticed it's a lot better at later times), but it often feels difficult to focus here. It's lively which is fine. Good white noise. But the music is too loud I feel. Now again, maybe its a location issue and I totally understand, but it feels like they're running a dictatorship here. There's no outlets, which I get. People freeloading, can't have that. Same with the wifi. A coffee shop with no wifi outrightly displayed just feels wrong. It's printed on the receipts. Again, I understand, but it just doesn't feel like a very welcoming and comfortable environment. Overall, I think the service significantly impacts this place. Everything else I've mentioned can be looked beyond, but service trumps many things. Coupled with unattractive prices, I don't think this place is very great and I've been coming on and off...
