Nestled in the heart of the city, I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Korean restaurant that specializes in Bulgogi Stew, and it was an experience that left me craving for more. From the moment I entered the restaurant, the inviting aroma of sizzling meat and savory spices welcomed me, setting the stage for a delightful culinary journey.
The restaurant's warm and cozy ambiance immediately made me feel at home. Traditional Korean decor adorned the walls, creating a charming and authentic atmosphere. The attentive and friendly staff greeted me with a smile, promptly guiding me to my table and ensuring my comfort throughout the dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the Bulgogi Stew. It was a masterpiece of flavors and textures. The generous portions of thinly sliced, marinated beef were tender, succulent, and bursting with savory goodness. Cooked to perfection, the meat melted in my mouth with each bite, leaving me craving for more. The broth was rich, fragrant, and packed with layers of depth. Infused with a medley of Korean spices and seasonings, it tantalized my taste buds and left a pleasant warmth that spread through my body.
What made this Bulgogi Stew truly remarkable were the fresh and vibrant ingredients that accompanied it. The assortment of colorful vegetables, such as mushrooms, onions, and green onions, added a delightful crunch and a burst of freshness to the stew. It was evident that the restaurant took great care in sourcing high-quality ingredients, ensuring that each component worked harmoniously to create a harmonious symphony of flavors.
The service at this Korean restaurant was exceptional. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and eager to offer recommendations and explanations about the dishes. They happily accommodated special requests and ensured that every aspect of the dining experience was memorable. Water glasses were promptly refilled, and plates were cleared efficiently, allowing for a seamless and enjoyable meal.
Overall, my experience at this Korean restaurant was outstanding. The Bulgogi Stew, with its tantalizing flavors and tender meat, was the highlight of the meal. The inviting ambiance, attentive service, and dedication to quality ingredients made dining here a true delight. If you're a fan of Korean cuisine or simply looking to embark on a culinary adventure, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Read moreI've always spoken highly of Thank Sool, but it seems like they're taking a downward trend. Went over Halloween weekend and place was packed which was to be expected. Waited an hour to be seated which is again understandable.
We order a somek(soju + beer) tower but they're out of towers so they bring it in pitchers, which is disappointing but still not the end of the world. We taste it, and the drinks are completely watery, they've put tons of ice in it and you can't taste beer or soju, only lemon. Who puts lemon in somek? Perhaps it's an artistic choice so we move on from that. We order soju and beer instead to make our own somek but the soju is warm and only one type of beer is cold. They've run out of cold soju which I can understand again since they've been packed on Halloween weekend. These things aren't huge deal breakers overall but you'd expect cold soju at the very least.
We order food: chicken and corn cheese. Corn cheese comes out lukewarm, the cheese still not melted and the hot plate not hot so we pass it around grabbing it by the handle which is usually piping hot. I am not overexaggerating when I say that the chicken comes out bloody. I bite into it, thinking it is juicy, but to my horror I'm looking at blood. If it was Halloween themed cooking, they've put the nail in the coffin, but I don't think that was the case. I feel like puking because I've already swallowed the bloody chicken. We flag down the waiter to explain to him that the chicken is bloody and he takes it without asking if we want a refund or something and returns later saying they are remaking it. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 5 years and I tried to be understanding but at this point I am quite bothered. He brings us a free somek tower (still with ice and watery) as consolation. We barely touch any of it since it doesn't taste like somek.
We pay and leave quietly. Gratuity is pre-charged on the bill and we don't argue. They're busy and understaffed, kitchen is tired or undertrained.
Thank Sool was my go-to place for several years but it's gone downhill and they don't even play Korean music, sounds more like discos I've been to Italy. It's sad to see another Korean place decline, but that's what you get when the same owner is pumping out restaurants left and right with little regard to...
Read moreDepending on your preference on skewers or bbq, they'll seat you on the type of table which accommodate the food(s) you'll be ordering. Skewer table comes with the rectangle grill with racks to stack skewers on and BBQ tables have the little stove for the cookoff.
The service was seriously lacking. I chose skewers and the table I sat on had an incomplete grill setup with a tablet for ordering food. I sat for roughly 10-15 minutes without anybody greeting me or anything to drink. Then the hostess girl came by to set up the grill which she did not know what she was doing and my husband helped her lol. It was obvious that she was the only worker for that entire dining room, hostess/server/busser and etc. So we didn't get enough attention for the entire dining experience. The soju I ordered on tablet when I first sat down did not show up till I almost finished eating because it was forgotten.
Next comes the ordering system. It's easy enough to order food on the tablet but the foods shown on tablet do not come with any explanation. It shows roughly 10 skewers in the photo but only 5 came on a plate, so there's that. Some food items do not come with any photos whatsoever and without an explanation, I did not know what I was ordering or how it looked like.
I ordered lamb and chicken skewers. The grill was not set up correctly which it overcooked food on one side and not cooking food on the other side. So I ended up with meat that's raw on one side and charred on the other. Also the skewers were absolutely the worst ones I've ever had. Very plain and no taste. Skewers, fried chicken and army stew were both very average for the price they charge. I don't mind paying high prices if I'm getting the equivalent services or quality foods to make the money worth it and unfortunately that was...
