If I were to rate the mochinut's it would be 5/5
I came in today(11/30)around noon, it was pretty busy. As I'm done ordering I wait in the line for the person to pack my box, the girl finishes up with the person before me(I believe it was her first day or something) she's fully enveloped in the customer ordering with the cashier's interaction(didn't really listen much but she was acting like a Karen couldn't have nuts on the mochinut or something), I'm not being acknowledged at this point, the girl that's supposed to be packing is now trying to listen in on what's happening and be involved with that customer then the cashier asked her to finish up checking her cash out so she can prepare a brand new batch for the lady that was being totally rude. I wait for her to finish cashing out so I can have my order packed now and I guess the girl was to enthralled by that interaction that she didn't even believe that I paid for my dozen She to pace about trying to find a receipt of something. Also she didn't put gloves on after handling the cash from the lady I was waiting for her to put them on but she didn't and I'm really not that confrontational and I work in service and I try not to cause workers to much grief so didn't ask her to but I'm germophobic and it just made me kind of turned off by this place. Also icing on top of the cake was the rude customer got her custom-made 1/2 dozen mochinuts before I got my premade ones packed. Like can you please pay attention to a customer that's already paid and paid way more than the one your giving your full attention too. Not everyone working in the establishment needs to give this lady the attention she's so desperate for. A note to any service workers the more attention you give rude customer's the more they thrive and continue their...
Read moreThe mochi donut here are pretty good. The drinks are mediocre with the boba being kind of old and hard to chew. Korean hot dogs were just okay and nothing to rave about. The personnel behind the counter was very soft spoken so it's very hard to make out what she was asking. I suggest maybe turning down the music so communication between employee and customers are heard. Overall an okay place to grab some mochi donuts, but probably not the drinks.
9/8/24 - An update as mochinut is no longer here, and instead they have opened up Menya Ramen and Poke. The wife and I came here to give it a try. They just opened up here. The interior decor looks really great and clean, but no one was at the front counter. There is a tablet to order from at the front counter. A suggestion is maybe list the ingredients in your ramen in case someone has a food allergy or does not like a certain item in it. Ordering from the tablet does not have an option to customize any food items (ramen). I would highly recommend having some sort of customization.
The food was just okay. My wife had the curry ramen, but some of the potatoes in it were hard and a little on the crunchy side. The Shoyu ramen was decent, but the kaarage was underwhelming as it seemed it wasn't fried long enough. Overall, it is a nice little spot, but maybe give it a few weeks for them to...
Read moreGlad I finally got to Mochinut.
Having heard about Korean hot dogs for a while I finally made my way to Mochinut.
There was a good crowd at 2pm on a Sunday so that's a good sign first and foremost.
I originally planned on just the corn dogs but also tried three of the mochi donuts and a boba drink.
The corn dogs/deep fried cheese were my favorite. I shared an all mozzarella ramen as well as a half cheddar half dog in potato and a half mozzarella half hot dog in hot Cheetos. All were fried to perfection. I liked all of them yet my favorite is tied between the ramen and potato.
I tried three of the donuts. The original was very good as were the cookie butter and mango banana. They are lighter & chewier than a traditional doughnut. Be aware they are very sweet so pair with a coffee/tea (coffee shop literally next door with a door in-between the shops.
I had the thai tea boba. What I like about mochinut is that it is in a can that you open when ready. The thai tea was good albeit quite sweet. Getting the boba out though was harder than a traditional cup though.
The parking can be tricky as the strip mall has several others businesses (Sushi Katsu was closed due to it being Sunday) so be prepared to wait or find street parking.
Will come back to mochinut for another...
