My first time visiting Daiso was quite packed! They had a moderate amount of household goods, cleaning supplies, tote bags, etc. But I was very disappointed by the trinket section of Sanrio's limited merchandise. There weren't many cute keychains, like mini plushies of the big main 5 characters; hello kitty, my melody, badtz maru.. I was hoping to see other cute characters such as Chiikawa, Miffy, Mofusand, Tokidoki. People love blind boxes and phone charms! The plushy section could use more work in terms of different animals and designs, I hope the Havana Daiso can take notes from Miniso.
They don't sell iphone chargers in the electronic area. In case of an emergency it's always best they can up their game for a range of chargers and batteries. Their makeup section was also "meh" since they only sold LA colors. i was expecting to see eastern asian makeup.
Fixing mistakes like these can improve the quality and quantity of their store. I've seen vloggers shopping in Daiso buying adorable merchandise. I'll give this store another try in the future. I would love for Daisos in Colorado improve the...
Read moreI've been hoping for a Daiso ever since we moved to state with zero of them. Inspite of having same issue all US $1 stores have, it's still Daiso with relatively affordable Japanese home and organizational good.
But, they chose to add a pricing issue which is why 4 stars that was almost 3. Was the difficulty in finding prices. Items are supposed to have a Japanese yen price. There are conversion charts posted around the store. Too many items didn't have a yen price on the item or the shelf. On top of that, the conversion chart had ranges so 300-350 yen became $4.25 USD.
That's a significant premium as current exachange rates have 300 yen at about $2 USD. This is likely due in part to thing beyond Daiso's control. But, it's weird to me to show that to the customer and to have so many items with no pricing. It made shopping to a budget difficult particularly when it was so crowded. I'll go back when things have calmed down and see if things...
Read more3/24/25- went to see what the hype was all about and was super disappointed. Super overpriced Japanese goods. I don't think that they think their customers are smart or know anything about Japanese culture. The key part of this is the price chart. I will say that your average person will not know the value of the yen, but they can find it online. They were charging double the value of the products or more. For example products marked 150-165 yen is $2.25 usd, but in reality at the current conversion rate that is$1-1.10 usd. If you are fine paying double for stuff this is your store. Smart shoppers will know that there are better options. Yah, they had a few cute things, but not that many. I was hopping for a lot more Japanese cultural products or partnered products like Sanrio, but the store mostly felt like either the Dollar Tree or 5 Below in the same shopping area. Super disappointing. The pictures I took was of the few interesting...
