Disappointing Experience at Central Park Recreation Center
I’ve been a member of Central Park Recreation Center for a while now, and unfortunately, my experience has been far from positive. One major issue is the low cleanliness standards. It’s common to find no soap in the bathrooms, and certain sinks don’t have running water, which is simply unacceptable for a public facility. When I raised this issue multiple times, I was met with rude and frustrated responses from staff, as if bringing up a legitimate concern was an inconvenience to them.
Another major issue is the Zumba class music. It’s incredibly loud, and they leave the doors open, so the noise echoes throughout the entire gym. Many members, including myself, have voiced complaints about this, but again, the feedback was met with attitude and complete disregard from staff. It’s frustrating to be ignored or treated poorly when bringing up genuine concerns.
Overall, the staff’s lack of receptiveness to complaints and their terrible attitude when addressing feedback has created a poor atmosphere at the gym. It’s a shame because the facility has potential, but with such issues, it’s hard to enjoy...

Went here desperately wanting to like it and switch from 24 hour, which has become a crowded nightmare. Unfortunately the Central Park Rec Center was no different. Super crowded (Monday at 4pm) with someone using almost all pieces of equipment. There are mostly machines (and a large variety at that). Free weights area is super small with one set of dumbells in increments of 5 only. 2 benches. Only a few small mirrors scattered around... Why? No place to stretch or do anything not on a machine or bench. Cables in general are somewhat lacking as well (there are some cables but they are cramped and are incremented by 10 so not a ton of flexibility) . No armed cable machines and no seated cable press. Locker rooms are clean and lockers are nice. Showers are all handicap stalls with benches in them? Crowd is typical/stereotypical Stapleton and this place is definitely a family gym. Front desk staff was nice at lease. Again, probably a great family gym, just not for anyone looking to get a...
Read moreTerrible customer service. Signed my son up for basketball at Stapleton Rec Center and find out that It's 10 miles from Stapleton. Called and spoke with Tyler and he explained that the Central Park Rec is in Stapleton on MLK street, Stapleton Rec is located more central downtown, and MLK Rec is on Newport street. He said he could put my son on a wait list for Central Park on MLK, but he wouldn't get in. I asked him why the hours of the programs are so early at the Central Park Rec located in Stapleton vs the Stapleton Rec located Central near downtown. He said the people at the downtown location probably have to work. The names of the Rec Centers have no logic to them and are counter intuitive. The hours for activities are terrible for young school age children. Tyler was also very unhelpful and made the experience 10 times worst with his I could careless attitude. I hope he reads this step one hear the concern, step two fake empathy (how frustrating that must have been for you), step three come up with a solution even if you...
