I've eaten at Duffers several times. Once right after they opened, ordered a burger which was very overpriced ($15) for the quality as it is compressed of a very thin frozen hamburger patty and the fries were additional ($4). Stopped by last year with a group before playing a round and I ordered the Buffalo Wrap. It was so heavily sauced, that's all I could taste. On Sunday 4/14, I ordered the Meadow Melt ($14) which a grilled turkey & cheese sandwich served with green chili and a small side of mashed avocado, the fries were included. It was a decent serving for the price.
Upon returning (2 hours later) to the course to play a round the waitress that served me was sitting outside (with I presume her daughter), both very drunk and incredibly loud, cursing, calling out every person that walked by, hooting & hollering like they were at a football game. This is a golf course. It was terribly annoying and very distracting.
Today I decided to try the burger again (to go), hoping that the quality had improved. I was extremely disappointed. The menu says Mr. Jim's Burger comes with lettuce, onion, tomatoe and pickles and fries. I got home with a bun, another thin frozen patty, half of a wilted peoce8 of lettuce and 2 pickles for which I paid $17. Unacceptable!
The food quality is terrible. The service is sub par and the atmosphere is mostly comprised of golfers having drinks after their rounds.
Considering the profit they are making on drinks alone, the food quality should be...
Read more$16 for a cheeseburger at an aurora municipal golf course?! The young girl bartender got defensive and rude when I complained about the price for a burger and draft, considering it's an aurora course and the prices are about 35% more expensive than last season.
I told her to cancel it and just give me two hot dogs because they were more reasonable, at which point there were issues with refund and the manager gave me cash back for her order, which I didn't want.
There was tension. I apologized for my attitude because I was shocked an Aurora muni bar would charge that much. I still gave her a tip that she refused to accept, claiming she didn't "NEED" my money. I explained I was not irritated at her and that I was irritated at the price for a hamburger given the location and situation, but she escalated and then began crying. She claimed I threw it at her when I clearly placed it on the bar politely.
Meadow Hills used to have a great combination of great prices for golf and food, with great service and great casual players. It's now overpriced with a restaurant that is...
Read moreRude staff. The older lady afternoon's evenings, makes you feel rushed as if she is being put out. Unfortunately when we go we are hoping she is not there as it happens every single time. Food is great, if the service is lousy they should lower food prices. People that spend good money for years at this course shouldn't have to be treated this way, nor a first time customer that may never return due to...
