I agree with what another reviewer said on here - if youâre going to have street tacos as the main food being served here and market yourself as a Mexican restaurant, a native chef needs to be making the food. I truly want to love this place, I do. 12/28 was our third time giving this place a âlast chanceâ but I donât think weâll be back for a while.
The tacos we received were cold, flavorless and a tiny amount of food for $8 per taco. The only good one was the quesabirria, which even then, didnât come with authentic consommĂ© but still had good flavor.
I understand the ethos behind fresh, organic, local-only ingredients, however⊠that can only get you so far. The chips had 0 salt, and the âgrilledâ avocado we got looked like 2-day old avocado with 0 grill marks on them. Again, I truly want to believe this place can get better over time since theyâre still new. But the food is lacking flavor and authenticity, which is slightly insulting for a Mexican restaurant. Then you have the menu, that randomly says things like âLegit!!â and âIn my opinion, this is what the best chicken brand in Colorado isâ in places where there should be more of a description on the dish. We finished what we were served and and went straight to Yo Mommaâs Cantina to finish out our appetite.
Our waiter also took way too long to come check on us between interactions but this may just be a staffing issue. (?)
Overall, I think this place would be a great if it were rebranded as a burger and beer hangout spot. Love the vibe but the flavor and authenticity just is not there.
Iâm leaving 3 stars because the vibe was fun and I know the owner is invested in making...
Read moreCame back to give this place another shot.. when we first came I had just worked a 13 hour shift, was hoping for some good food cuz I was too drained to cook after the day I had at the hospital. 35 to 40 minutes before the doors were supposed to close and we were told they would not serve us. Alcohol was our only option (who knew that at the time that was a blessing). Second chance... draft pacifico was the only thing on point. Chips and salsa are not included, but they wouldn't have worth it even if they were free.. chips are awful, salsa was lacking DEF dont waste your money here. Shrimp popers .. how can you mess up shrimp with jalapeno, cheese wrapped in baccon?? .. they have a skil of not cooking things well. They ONLY serve tacos.. but they can't even get those right. The tacos don't come with a side, you get a SINGLE taco for almost $10.. IF they were GOOD I would not have blinked at the cost.. but NO these are not even "ok". We ordered mahi (DEF don't order that), the duck fat pork belly (no flavor at all, just dripping in grease (DEF don't order that) and the birria.. how can a white girl's homemade birria be better than a place that overpays for this nasty no flavor taco? (if people are willing to pay for THIS lacking food, maybe "I" should open a food truck đł) ... please don't waste your money here SO not worth...

Service was friendly and professional, the menu had a lot of variety, and it will take you quite awhile to try every single one of their drinks (wanna' try Unicorn Piss? This is the place!) Concept behind En Fuego Cantina is a la' carte items which include appetizers, sides, tacos, and desserts. Want a drink? Take a look at the Booze Menu. Started with a Blackberry Cilantro Margarita; tangy, sweet, and the cilantro was not overpowering. Didn't do appetizers but we knew we were ordering extra to try many items and have leftovers. For sides we ordered Elote, Spanish Risotto, and Charrrrro Beans (yes, that's how it's spelled!). Tacos can be ordered regular or as a street taco. We experienced the Pork Carnitas, Grilled Shrimp, Grilled Skirt Steak, and the Not Quesabirria Taco (the owner loves naming his dishes!). Meat was spilling out of the corn/flour tortillas, and the cole slaw on a couple of them was really good. Dessert was the Chocolate Flan, we took it go so no review but it looked amazing. En Fuego Cantina is owned by the same folks that brought us Heritage Cafe. If you're lucky enough to have known that, you will not be disappointed by their...
