Monsoon: Outstanding Cuisine, but Service Left Me Torn
I can’t recommend Monsoon enough when it comes to their food—it’s truly exceptional. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you can often catch a whiff of their slow-churned curries and clay oven-baked meats. Step inside, and your senses are greeted by the intoxicating aroma of spices and freshly baked Naan that immediately set the stage for an incredible meal.
The first time I dined here, I ordered the traditional lamb curry, and let me just say—every bite was a revelation. The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, and the sauce had just the right blend of spice and depth. Even the rice, as simple as it seems, was perfectly prepared. And then there’s the Naan. I tried both the regular and garlic versions, and you could tell they were freshly made, warm, and impossibly good—the best Naan I’ve ever had, hands down.
Monsoon consistently delivers food that makes you want to come back again and again. Their menu showcases the love and care they put into each dish, and I’ve never been disappointed when it comes to the flavors or quality.
That said, I have to address one unfortunate experience that left me conflicted. On one visit, I called ahead to make a reservation, only to be told with a chuckle that it wasn’t necessary. When my family arrived, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The host asked if we had a reservation, and when I explained the situation, they apologized but didn’t go any further to make it right. There was no effort to acknowledge the inconvenience or offer anything to improve the experience.
This was a tough moment for me because the food at Monsoon is so outstanding that I want to give it a glowing five-star review without hesitation. But customer service matters, too, especially at a restaurant of this caliber. It’s painful to lower my rating even slightly because of how much I love their food, but I believe service should match the quality of the cuisine.
If Monsoon can elevate their customer service to the same impeccable standard as their food, it would be an unbeatable experience. For now, I’ll keep coming back for the phenomenal flavors, with the hope that future visits will reflect a more consistent commitment to...
Read moreMy brother called in an order that I was set to pick up in 20 minutes. I was directed to the bar, where the bartender/manager(?)...informed me that my order was not set to be picked up until 6? I said I'd be back....when I came back he brought an order that was not ours ...then suggested after looking again that they did not have the order ....after reaching my brother on the phone 20 minutes later and I returned, getting assistance from another server who easily found out order. The original bartender helped me apologizing and sharing some excuse about how it was not his fault....he delivered the check for me....no discount...resulting in me leaving no tip and resolving to write this review. As a person who works in the service industry, it is crappy service like this that makes the difference. This experience is enough to keep me from going back and more importantly take it off my brother's list of places they will frequent in the neighborhood. It's simple...admit your mistake...even it is on take out...and make it right by honoring the hassle you put them through. Discounting or comping the meal. Food was good....and good Indian food places are all over. So service is the only thing that distinguishes one from the other. UPDATE..... Keyshawn flipped the script on this reveiw...there could not have been better service that what we received from K....he walked us through the menu explaining it all and what he liked... and the things he like were not just the most expensive...he gave us the low down...I work for a culinary group and we serve high end clients.....K made us feel like we were those high end cients. Monsoon is moving in the right direction. Only one of the lame bar team remained....he should probably go to based on his behavior tonight. You swept me off my...

Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food! We started our meal with the Samosa minis, which were perfectly crispy and filled with a flavorful mixture. The Chicken Korma was a real standout dish, with tender pieces of chicken simmered in a rich and creamy sauce that was bursting with aromatic spices. The Chicken Tikka was perfectly cooked and packed with bold flavors, the garlic Naan was the ideal accompaniment. The Chicken cheese Naan added a unique twist to the meal, blending the flavors of chicken and cheese in a delightful way. Even the kid's meal, Mac and Cheese with fries, was a hit with its creamy and comforting flavors.
