Golden Flame Hot Wings — Restaurant in Aurora

Update - 2024 we love this place. The phrase and the wings are exceptional. So is the service! But, We find ourselves going to different spots than here because of the ranch. Please start making the ranch in-house so that we can make this our only spot again! We love everything else but we have to have good ranch!

Such a long story, so I will make this quick. We go at 9 pm on a Friday expecting it to not be too busy (us old people are usually in bed by 9). They were SO busy that we could not get a table right away. We order...and as it normally goes there, the food is ready literally in minutes...but we had to wait for 30 minutes for a table. Needless to say we were kind of upset, not at the establishment but at the people having the audacity to sit around, enjoying a nice Friday out, having completed their meal but still enjoying their conversation...therefore not removing themselves from their table so that others could sit down and enjoy their meal. Once a table freed up we hopped on it and I kindly asked the staff to make our order fresh since by then it was cold. Not only did they make it fresh, but they also up'd the qty of wings without us even asking ANNNNNND brought us the MOST delicious order of funnel fries I have ever had. We go to this place a lot, and I even buy the bottled sauces to take home because the Colorado Fancy and the Golden Flame sauces are way too good so it was nice to be taken care of when the staff knew the dilemma we were in. Thank goodness they have great customer service and try to make things right on the spot if aware of the issue. Okay. I am none the less extremely disappointed in this location. On November 10th @8:27 PM I went to this location to pick up my order. The wings were more than half dry and seemed like someone did not know how to properly season them with the dry rub. For a wing spot this is pathetic service. I remember seeing two baskets full of cooked wings over the oil when I walked in. So I was thinking "cool, alot of people are ordering food from here tonight! So it must be super fresh, right?" I was DEAD WRONG! I get it that _hit happens from time to time, and I don't know what happened there that night. I'm thinking maybe some one ordered a large amount of wings and then didn't follow through or perhaps changed their mind, and went elsewhere. Unfortunately, that doesn't explain why the wings were 'dry and old tasting". I will not be back to this location, "EVER". Why not? Simply put, I don't have this issue at "WING STOP"!!! I was too tired to go to Wing Stop that night, so I settled for an establishment that was closer to home. Next time, it won't even be a question where I choose to get my Fresh, damn well seasoned, hot, and, oh yeah, did I mention "FRESH" wings from; I will drive past Golden Flame Hot Wings and go a few more miles to "WING STOP"!! Been several times as I enjoy wings with sporting events for an easy option. The wings are usually how you order them and pretty good sauce options. My problem is with service, I called my order in and when they forgot my sauce blame was immediately passed to me. After going back and forth and realizing they aren't saturated everywhere like Wingstop making for more difficult travel, they agreed to apply my number with the 30 wings they messed up after frustrating me to the point of losing my appetite. After this debacle I go to Oblios pizza (which messed up my order) and they proceeded to offer me free drinks while they corrected my order and even credited back my account for the meal which I didn't even ask for while tossing in a gift card for the wait.

As you can see I rated the food 4 stars yet service and employee interaction gives me pause on wanting to go out of my way for their wings when I can get similar experience and quality most wing chains regionally without the drive. Hopefully this was a one off but based on past experience and friends stating similar issues it becomes a disappointment as I do...
