The park has extra attractions that make the park feel joyful for toddlers and children. The park also has an extended field with trees around that can be used for shade, resting areas, or other activities. There is a bridge that connects to the park, but I haven't explored that side yet. All I can say right now is that the park is simple but fun for certain people, mostly kids.
Okay, for the people who don't mind hearing my journey, here to whole story: I was getting ready to ride my way to this park on a bike; yeah, on a hot day in the morning. I opened up the app and looked for a route that could take me to the park without crossing any road. I found one and followed where the map told me to go, right after I turned around to get my earphones to hear the GPS better. My first problem came when I had to ride down a steep hill, where signs of praise dog lerk by. If it wasn't the fact that I was already scared to encounter a snake, I did not want to ride over holes dug in the dirt. I lend back and let the bike move forward. Passing many holes and almost falling to the ground, I made it through. My second problem came not long after the first one, and oh boy, was it frustrating. The GPS kept changing the route when I followed its directions. 5 minutes after struggling to find the path, I found it; my disappointment was priceless. Then came the third problem, I entered a neighborhood that gave me paranoia. I was careful not to get shot down by old folks. atlas, I made it out safe, except the GPS wanted me to cross a road. I lucky found a path that was safe to cross and kept peddling by. My fourth problem approached me when it told me to wide road with active cars driving by. I did the same thing as last time and found a pedestrian walkway. I entered a narrow path that had a river below, I was get very anxious from falling off the trail. As I petaled my bike, I could see how close I was to the park from a distance. Just one minute, and I made it to the park. I could finally do what I came to look for, clovers. I came to the park in hopes of finding a four-leaf clover. I went clover hunting, found a patch of clovers, and sat next to it. I looked around and found one. I thought I was hallucinating, but it was real. I picked it from the ground and took it with me. I took a different path to my home since I wasn't going through that mind twisting path again. I would consider myself lucky to find a four-leaf clover through a stressful path, I am happy that it was worth...
Read moreLove Hampden Run Park. It is a good mix of challenging climbing for elementary kids but easy enough that younger kids can still use the playground. It is always a diverse group of kids there with parents watching and interacting with their kids. It has a great open field to kick a soccer ball or play tag. The field is far enough away there isn’t a concern a ball or child will end up on the busy road. It has a nice stream for exploring and a wide trail that backs up to a nature area if you are looking to take a longer walk.
We will often grab a snack from McDonalds across the street and have a picnic at the park. It is really one of our favorite parks...

I had 3 kids with me: 2, 5 and 10. They ALL had a blast for over 40 minutes. Great way for them to get some outdoor time, exercise, and run out some of that energy!
3 slides, plenty of climbing, a few different swings, and a long enclosed rope bridge/climbing frame kept them constantly changing activities. Wood chips.were replaced with that bouncy rubber 'ground that absorbs landing or falling shock and reduces injuries. Good looking out THERE.
If you need somewhere to bring the kids for a few minutes or maybe even an hour, this is...
