HoneyBee Asian Bistro & Sushi — Restaurant in Aurora

My husband and I have been ordering takeout from this restaurant for a while now, and we’ve absolutely loved most of their dishes! Our all-time favorite is the Spicy Boiled Fish—it usually comes in a rich, flavorful Szechuan-style spicy gravy that’s incredibly tasty. We always order this dish!

Today, I was craving it again, especially since I’m on a diet and wanted something satisfying. But when I opened the box, I was really disappointed—the dish was completely different. It had no gravy, wasn’t spicy, and didn’t have that signature Szechuan flavor. It tasted bland, which was very unlike what we’re used to.

I was hesitant to call, but I just wanted to check if maybe the menu had changed or there was a new cook so I’d know for next time. When I called, the front desk kindly asked me to wait for a call from the manager. The manager called shortly after, was very polite, and asked me what was wrong. I explained everything and asked if there were any changes in the kitchen—he said no, apologized, and even gave me a credit for my next order.

I made sure to tell him I wasn’t complaining just to get a refund—I even offered to send pictures of the dish. He kindly said it wasn’t necessary.

I’ve always been a fan of their food, but after this experience, I’m even more impressed with their customer service. It’s rare to find a place that truly values their customers. I’ll definitely continue...

Absolutely the worst asian food I have ever had, don't waste you money...

The only thing better than RAW BEEF was the customer service; almost as disgusting! After being delivered raw beef and disgusting Pineapple Curry for a 70 dollar take out meal, when I called to see if we could get something edible the manager conveniently hung up on me. Then after reconnecting I was going to ask if we could possible pick up something different since it was not for humans to eat. Instead I was "educated" on how terrible my choices in chinese food were! Sorry we have a dietary restriction in the house-- just so we are clear I have had beef with vegetables (sauce on the side) on many occasions and have never been served such disgusting unseasoned, old, under cooked beef in my life...

In addition, I dare you to ask the manager if she recommends the Pineapple curry she doesn't suggest it . In her words" its very flavorless and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone" ... Can someone please advise her to take it off the menu!!!! Wow thats easy!

Also I have def had this as well... Most places just serve Panang Curry with pineapple in it, sorry yours is not that and I agree one of the more disgusting items I have ever thrown in the trash.

If you insist on ordering from here, my advice is to not order using any form of online ordering. We placed our order through Beyond Menu, which we use frequently and have no other issues with. When we placed our order for this evening, we once again used Beyond Menu and requested delivery for ASAP. After an hour, and still no food, I called the restaurant and was told that I would have to receive a call back from the manager who handles all orders through Beyond Menu. He called me back about 10 minutes later and tried to tell me that my order said that I wanted delivery at 6:45, which it did not. I read off my order number and told him I was looking at my confirmation email which showed delivery time as “ASAP.” The manager then tried to make another excuse at which point I said I didn’t want to hear, he asked if I wanted 20% off my NEXT order at which point I told him no because I would not be ordering from here again as this was the 2nd, yes 2nd time this has happened with timing on an order and all I cared about was when this order would be arriving. The manager said it should arrive soon. It was another 30 minutes when the food FINALLY arrived and was ice cold. I’ve certainly had much better food, but our favorite restaurant was closed due to the holiday. Will not be ordering...
