Ma Tea House — Restaurant in Aurora

We visit the Fox Valley Mall every once in a while, and my middle schooler always insists on stopping by MaTea House before we head out. Usually, we have a great experience – there’s often a young man working who is always polite and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere. However, our most recent visit was disappointing.

This time, a young woman was working, and the experience was quite different. My daughter has recently started placing her own orders, and as she finished ordering, she was abruptly cut with a curt, “We don’t have that right now.” There was no suggestion for an alternative or any effort to help. My daughter had to take a moment to look at the menu again to find something similar to what she originally wanted. The young woman just stood there without offering any assistance.

When the drink was ready, my daughter went up to collect it, and once again, the young woman spoke in a rude tone, stating that it was the drink she ordered, but she had “shaken it.” As someone who has managed a coffee shop for years, I know how much presentation matters, especially when it comes to specialty drinks. A well-made drink not only looks appealing but also enhances the overall experience.

Customer service is essential in any establishment, and while I understand that everyone can have a rough day, the attitude and lack of effort from the staff member made our visit less enjoyable. I hope this was just an off day and not a reflection of the usual service, as we typically enjoy...

Enjoyed an off the menu Rose Milk Tea and also BBQ Pork Bao for lunch.

The Rose Milk Tea was aromatic and tasty with ice on top. Highly recommend trying it if they still stock it as it was an item that I requested and not on their published menu.

The Pork Bao was filling with quite a bit of meat. The meat was more shredded and had less of a BBQ flavor than what I'm used to, and this is good as it is a handmade bun.

It's inside the mall so it's pretty neat, lots of areas to sit down while you enjoy your drink. I love that they have variety of flavors to choose from. I would have to visit it again to try some of their other flavors, it is very easy to find, you can check my photos and you would know exactly where to find it, it is where the lounge area is. Service was pretty quick and you should park near to the Jc Pennys entrance to be able to get there faster and also it is near the food court....
