My friends recommended the food court in the Aurora Farms Premium Outlets Area. My wife couldn't find it. So we decided to travel back North on 306 and Stopped at Mad Jacks Grill and Pub. I stepped over the overgrowth in the path leading to the door of the Tavern. Wondering 🤔 is this the place we should be trying on a whim? Going up the steps, I got inside and was greeted by a lovely young lady who immediately sat my wife and I in the dining area of this colonial building. The dining area was decorated with pictures of fine wines and animated dogs. I found the dog pictures quite curious! It was definitely a unique dining experience. Ordering the house Burger and Fries and yet dining with Silverware and Linen Napkins. The Burger was ordered well done and was superb. The bun was toasted just right! The French Fries came out hot and delicious. They had that Varied texture Some wimpy...some crunchy...but mostly just right. They reminded me of going to the Diner as a kid. I Got the Lettuce, Tomato, and Pub Pickles 🥒 offered with the sandwich as well as a side of Mayonnaise. I put my two Pub Pickles slices on my sandwich not thinking a thing of it. My wife decided not to try her pickles today so I asked her if I could finish them for her, and she agreed. I popped the other two on what was left of my sandwich but one fell off so I put it in a dab of mayonnaise and bit. What happened next was like my Dad stopping back to say Hi for Father's Day. The Mayonnaise brought the Flavors out in the pickle. I could taste the Dill. There was another flavor that reminded me of Dad. Bread and Butter pickles. Naturally, I asked Diane my waitress about the pickles but all she would reveal was it's Mad Jack's own "unique pickling blend". Nice clean restrooms! As I stumbled down the step to exit the front door, I couldn't help but think was Dad in that country tavern kitchen? Remember, The Linen Napkin is not a white flag! Never Give Up trying to...
Read moreMy fiance and I decided to try out Mad Jacks for a date night. Let me begin with saying that we are a young couple in our twenties and seemed to be the youngest ones there. Upon arrival we were told that they had a table outside in the tent available in which we had replied that we would rather wait for a table inside. This request was ignored and we were taken outside after being told "well, we have a table is ready outside for you." First red flag. Second, 25 minutes went by and we had not had a server even acknowledge us! In this 25 minutes, we had decided on drinks AND dinner; yet no server (not even for water). People coming in after us were being seated, brought their drinks, and began placing their orders. We went inside to tell the gentleman who had seated us that we never had a server and that we would be leaving due to the lack of service. No apology was offered nor was any form of action taken to reconcile our situation. Being a supervisor in a hotel where I deal with guests seeking restaurant recommendations on a daily basis, I would NEVER recommend Mad Jacks. Such horrible customer service. We felt as though we were discriminated against from the moment we walked in the doors. Apparently young couples aren't wanted in their...
Read moreI took my granddaughter and her boyfriend to lunch yesterday, March 24th 2021. The two kids had hamburgers, the waiter was less than pleasant, however that was not my problem. I ordered a side salad that had pears, goat cheese and nuts in it for $8.00 when the waiter came to take our orders I asked if I could have a piece of chicken on it, he said sure. When the salad came out it had a piece of blackened chicken on it and I had to send it back. The got the next one right and it was fine. When the bill came they had charged me $17.00 for my salad, $9.00 for the chicken ( I think they charged me for both pieces). I asked the waiter if that was the price and he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away, I then asked someone else at the front if this was right and he responded “I guess so”.
I don’t usually complain and it would have been nice to be told (although I did not ask), just want to say that in the environment we are living in, with restaurants hurting and people suffering, to price gauge customers is just despicable and I would not give them...
