I decided to try Qdoba for the first time. I usually go to Chipotle where I am usually satisfied. I will not return to Qdoba.
I walked in and politely stated I have certain allergies and I am vegan and had questions about the rice and beans. Being vegan and walking into a restaurant, I can usually find something to eat. It is usually not a problem and I don't expect too much from a non vegan restaurant if the staff is knowledgeable of their menu that they serve!
The lady at the counter wanted to help me and this is why Qdoba gets a star. She didn't know the answer to my questions and tried to find out information from the other lady at the counter and the gentleman cooking on the grill. They acted like they couldn't care less and I kept getting looks from the workers like I was some kind of inconvenience.
I am a chef. Your staff, especially the "cook", should know what goes in every single item you hold on your hot and cold lines. The ,manager proceeded to hand me an allergen sheet which didn't even answer my question as to what kind of broth is used when cooking the rice. Apparently, they just use water. I have friends from Mexico and have cooked alongside cooks from Mexico. Using only water to cook your rice? C'mon!
The rice was dry and the beans had no flavor. The vegetables were way too oily. I will just stick with Chipotle, even though that really isn't true Mexican cuisine either but at least they have vegan options when I'm really hungry and I am treated friendly when I...
Read moreA little disappointed on my visit here this afternoon. I normally come to this location late at night as they're open till midnight. I always order a mini bowl and 9 times out of 10 at nearly all locations they put a nice amount of ingredients in the bowl. Not today. Marissa put a pinch of brisket in the bowl and when I asked if she could put a bit more on there she said it was a mini bowl and would have to pay extra. An extra scoop is about half the price of the mini bowl so I passed. When I asked if she could add a bit more guac on there she said that would be extra too. I have never been told by any qdobas location I can't have a bit more guac or would need to pay more. I also don't know how they determine what an "appropriate" serving of brisket is but I enclosed photos and challenge you to find the meat. Pretty much rice, cheese, cilantro and guac. And it doesn't even go to the top of the bowl. The staff here is usually pretty accommodating but today was not the case. I'll have to stick to coming to this location later at night and not...
Read moreNot sure what's going on at this location. I asked for a burrito bowl they were empty in the restaurant. The lady who I think is the manager came and stood next to the lady making the bowl. They put the tiniest portions. So I asked for Double meat. Still very small the manager leaned over to the cashier and started talking spanish about my bowl. They could tell I was visibly upset. I asked for a little more chicken. She said it's going to cost extra on top of the double meat. I said I just want just a little more because there was no way that I could eat that and not still be hungry even with the extra meat. She repeated that will be extra. So I said no thanks. I think it happens to them a lot. They just said ok. Maybe they get to eat it for free or something but I went to chipotle across the street it was great and they had way...
