I had a rather disturbing encounter with a short blonde male barista who was rude, condescending and all around nasty. Despite having placed a mobile order for the drive-thru, I arrived to find the drive-thru closed. I called the store to inquire about an alt solution. At this point, the barista, who appeared to be having a bad day, could have responded in several ways, such as confirming whether I could pick up my order at the next location, informing me that it was up to the store's discretion, or suggesting that I place a new order and get a refund for the first one. His response was far from helpful or courteous. Instead, he insisted that I come inside to get my order, which was not what I had in mind, as I had chosen the drive-thru for a reason. This barista was unaware of my specific situation or the reasons behind my reluctance to enter the store. This store has a large customer base of mostly men who pack the inside and outside of the store.
The situation took a turn for the worse when he proceeded to make derogatory remarks, saying, "well, that's on you, not us, I found this comment entirely unnecessary to make. I pointed out that his comment was uncalled for and that I was asking a yes or no question. But, the barista continued to be disgusting and condescending, stating, "well, it is on you; you're lazy and you don't want to get out of your car, that's on you," and abruptly hung up on me. Completely uncalled for.
I decided to go inside the store to grab my order and address the situation with him. When I approached him, he’s laughing about it with a coworker & continued to exhibit a disrespectful attitude. He seemed indifferent to the impact of his words and actions, even going so far as to smirk and ask, "So what do you want?" and continued arguing with me. I thought you were busy and stressed?
I felt compelled to explain to him (like a child) that it was unacceptable to treat any customer with such disrespectful behavior. Regardless of how busy or stressed the store may have been, it is never justified to use foul language or demeaning comments towards customers. I hope that this experience serves as a lesson for you to reflect on his behavior and strive for a more respectful and better attitude when dealing with customers in the future. Being stressed is never a reason to be...
Read moreToday I was craving my usual fav - iced matcha green latte. Today I decided to order it with no ice since they seem to feel the cup up with majority ice. An uber eats driver delivered the drink to my house like this. Keep in mind, I’ve already ordered this drink without ice. The difference I was at the store location so I KNOW the drink is supposed to be filled to the brim REGARDLESS if there is ice or not. I contacted the store and a young lady answered the phone. For her privacy, I will leave her name out but I have given it to Starbucks corporate for a compliant. She said the manager was in a meeting & she was more than happy to help. I told her the issue and she tried to convince me that it’s because the drink is frothy and by the time it comes to my house the froth has settled which leaves the extra space. Again, however, I have ordered this drink without ice at the store and this was not an issue AND the extra space was not filled with froth! It was all drink. I tried to explain my frustration and the young lady would not STOP speaking over me. I asked when the manager would be back and she said Thursday. So you’re telling me that a supervisor isn’t in until THURSDAY? So does this manager have a 3 day meeting? I’m not understanding!! I eventually just hung up and called customer service who after 3 attempts they FINALLY credited me for the drink which all that I was wanting! Trust me I’ve worked in customer service for a long time! I understand that customers can be rude and out of line! I tried to be as nice as possible but the poor excuses, the attitude, the talking over me, the lying about your manager and the refusal to help is crazy! It’s sad that Starbucks is even hiring people that have horrible attitudes anyways! Starbucks has always been a staple for excellent service!! I am thoroughly disappointed in...
Read more10/22/22 The mobile ordering system is set up so that you can mark things as unavailable if you do not have them. I wish this store would use that feature, instead of just waiting for customers to show up and be disappointed when they found out that part of their order had just been crossed-out in sharpie. No one even spoke to me while I picked up my order; I walked in, picked up the messed-up order, and walked back out, without a word to anyone. Terrible service, terrible customer care, and just overall terrible.
Updated 3/26/22 I'm pretty frustrated by the way they try to argue with you instead of just apologizing that something is wrong or they are out of things or your order isn't ready. Worry less about making yourself feel better and more about making it right for the customer. DO BETTER.
When I place a mobile order, I always have to check it, because it is wrong about two out of every three times. They are always very professional, cheerful, and quick about fixing it, but since the point of mobile ordering is speed, it would be nice to have it correct and not have to wait.
They recently updated the pickup so now I also have to wait for a barista to hand me my order, instead of just getting it myself. This is much worse, because I then have to wait for someone to realize that I am waiting. This is no one's job. No one is paying attention to ask for mobile pickups. As a result, I end up waiting several extra minutes, and THE POINT OF MOBILE ORDERING IS SPEED.
Updated 12/2021 every time I think hey are getting better, it gets worse again. This store is not worth my time.
Updated 3/2022 sorta better? It is still wrong sometimes, but usually I can find...
