Alright... where to start?
When we walked in... to an empty store, with 4 employees..... didn't get greeted by any of them.
When we were ready, they continued to talk about their day to each other while one of the employees was shooting a milk jug into the trash can... totally cool, if they had taken our order and fulfilled our ice cream wishes than watching them talk and play games...
After being the only 3 customers for 6+ minutes, another customer walks in.... one of the other employees helps the other customer before anyone had attempted to all if I wanted anything.... even when they saw me staring at the menu.... like, come on. Yeah I want ice cream.... that's why I came.
After getting help, I gave them a simple milkshake order.... peanut butter ice cream and Reeses.
She put milk and Reeses.....
Yeah....i wrote that correctly.... They didn't put any ice cream in the shake.... when did not serving ice cream in shake become a thing? Really?
How can you get a bad review for selling ice cream? You have to REALLY try in order to receive this. Absolute crap.
Thanks for the god awful..... everything!
Again, the employees did an excellent job of NOT doing their job.
I'm shocked I'm writing a bad review for a freaking ice cream place. Just... wow, Austin. I'll stick with my Whataburger shake
How hard is it to run an ice cream stand? according to...
Read moreFor context, I’m writing this as someone who used to work for Amy’s, at this location.
I stopped by for dessert after dinner with my boyfriend. Staff was fine, except when the person helping me misheard my order and had a sour attitude when I corrected them - which I politely did as soon as I noticed the color of the ice cream was wrong. Hell, maybe I even said my order wrong at first, but even then, it’s one scoop in the trash, not a big deal.
The ice cream itself was great as always, but the restaurant is a nightmare. I felt this way when I worked there, the back of house is very poorly designed with minimal space. From the customer side of the counter, i could see behind the counter was a mess. It was end of night on a Sunday so I understand the staff must have been dealing with a busy night, and I know how messy those could be. But a better organized workspace makes all the difference. Having a cramped L- shaped hallway to work with to run a restaurant is insane. There is just not enough room to have an efficient workspace, and it looks horrible and haphazard in my opinion. I’m really disappointed that Amy’s has not improved the space in the last ten years. But at least the company shelled out some cash to put a giant ice cream sculpture...
Read moreThere’s a guy who works at this location that has the most entitled attitude I’ve seen out of a worker before. He’s a short teenager, who was wearing a backwards hat and a flannel when I came in. He made eye-contact with me and just walked to the back instead of taking my order. The other two female employees were incredibly helpful and polite but the guy worker seemed to be more concerned with distracting them by talking while they were trying to put my order together. But when two younger women came in right after, he nearly jumped out from behind the counter to help them out. He was obviously high just by looking at his blood-shot red eyes, which is great to see for a “family friendly” shop.
Honestly, if you’re going to hire young teenagers make sure that you actually train them in what good customer service looks like. The angsty high-school attitude just gets old after a while. If those are the people you hire, then I’m perfectly happy to take my...
