I normally do not like food trucks but this is different. This is amazing! This is some of the best, if not THE BEST, sushi in Austin. We came here on a whim because all sushi restaurants were booked up with reservations and some are still closed because of Covid.
My wife was hesitant to eat sushi from a food truck. I canāt blame her. Our experience was wonderful though.
We ordered four specialty rolls and a boba tea. We had Kiss My Bass, Perfection, Ultra Shrimp and a Dragon roll. To our surprise, each roll was very unique and flavored differently. Usually sushi restaurants have a similar taste in all their sushi because the fish sits in the same window. Not here, and you can taste the difference. Each roll has its own flavor and none taste the same or even similar! Such unique flavors and combinations itās really a great sushi experience.
I also had the green tea boba smoothie with mochi and it was insanely good. I think itās better than all of the boba places I have frequented over the past ten years. Itās not true boba but itās very delicious and unique.
When we ordered there was no line. By the time we received our food, there was ten people waiting in line. I would wait in a line for this food any day. I hate lines, but this place is worth any wait. We will definitely be back and soon.
Pros: unique sushi, flavorful, quality, attention to detail Cons: none, except outdoor...

Dawa Sushi is a food truck located in a food truck park, with plenty of picnic tables scattered around for dining. It seems to be run by an older Korean couple, which adds a charming, homey touch.
We stopped by on a Friday for lunch and took advantage of their happy hour (available before 3 PM). We ordered the Dawa Roll Combo for $16.50, which includes two classic rolls and your choice of a half specialty roll (Barton Springs, Zilker Park, Spicy Onion Crunchy, or Phoenix). We went with the Crunch Roll (avocado, cucumber, crab meat, eel sauce, spicy mayo, and crunchy flakes), Eel Roll (baked eel, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce, and sesame seeds), and the Zilker Park Roll (crab meat and avocado, topped with more avocado, eel sauce, spicy mayo, and sesame seeds).
While all the rolls were good and tasted fresh, they leaned on the simpler side and had fairly similar flavor profiles. The Zilker Park Roll was my favorite of the three.
The food took about 10ā15 minutes to come out, and everything tasted fresh and light. After eating, we brought our plate back up to the counter. We plan on coming back to try some of their other rolls, especially the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy 4.5 year daughter and I needed a quick dinner because we were in the process of moving and running behind. She asked for sushi and this food truck was the closest so we called in an order: mango spring rolls, Philly roll, and Eel roll. We were surprised that it would take 40 minutes, but the kind lady explained she had a lot of orders. We ran home, took a shower, put on PJs (8 is late for my kiddo!) and drove to pick up the food. When we arrived 45 minutes later, they were still making it but it was ready 5 minutes later. We ordered a raspberry tea as well. We ate in the car and as my daughter took her first bite she said "mom, this is SO yummy. Can we order again because I think I'll want more!" Mango spring rolls were good, and my sushi was delicious! The tea wasn't my jam. Next time we will be sure to come earlier so we can try the different...
