Haven’t been to Dennys in a decade. Like Dennys food okay, just had always been a bit disappointing experience. But tried this location twice due to location next to hotel
Walked in and you could tell your business was bothering them. The hostess could barely expend the energy to move let alone hide her contempt for interrupting her rest.
First night the food was fairly good but the service was slow ( with a capital SUCKED). Finally had to get up and beg for the bill so I could end the 60 minute experience.
Next night same thing. Back late. Hungry. Nothing else close. I’m a forgiving guy
This time the couple ahead of me woke the receptionist from her standing rest break and I got out at a table pretty quickly. Where I then sat for 15 minutes with every server intentionally avoiding eye contact. 15 minutes of other tables being served I finally got up to leave but made the mistake of asking if someone might want to serve my table. And was told someone would be there immediately (aka 5 minutes). Obviously knew what I wanted having memorized the menu twice. Grand slam baby. It’s dennys. What else would you order? And they certainly can pull that together quick. Well thirty minutes later and many unhappy other customers later my meal came. Never saw so many people stand around doing nothing while the poor cooks (2 I could see ) hurried to get food prepped. The slam was crazy-okay but not great. No refills on beverage. Begged the server for my check and made another quick get away only 90 minutes lost of my night. Place is dirty, the contempt for the customer palpable, lazy employees (I know, I own a company too. It’s the new pandemic) who felt they weren’t being paid enough to actually work. I honestly swear the employees nodded off or went catatonic while checking me out All this at about 40% capacity 10pm weekend nights.
I know it’s not fine dining but this makes Waffle House look four star. If you’re stuck and this is it I did get edible food and wasn’t mugged outside. Would not recommend going to this location intentionally. This is not representative of Dennys. Just the employees at this location. I hate to leave negative reviews because the world is too negative but anything less would be misleading and not fair to people googling...
Read moreI've always had good food at Denny's but what I really want to talk about in this review is the service. Due to an unforseen illness, our dinner plans with family fell through on Christmas day and our only option was frozen food. I said I refuse to eat frozen food on Christmas day. Back where I'm from, my cousins and I always had a Christmas day tradition of going to Denny's at the end of the night to complain about our elders lol. That was over a decade ago but this Christmas, I thought oh I bet Denny's is open!
I checked and was very relieved they were open. We ordered online and I went to go pick up the food. Did I wait a little for my order? Yes. But I expected to and it was not a big deal at all, maybe 10ish minutes. It was packed and the hostesses and waitresses were on the ball, let me tell you. They worked very hard to make sure everyone waiting was greeted and kept checking the kitchen for items for the online orders. The cooks were equally on the ball. I could hear them in constant contact with the hostesses and waitresses so everything was running as smoothly as possible.
Anyway I know it's not always fair to have to work on Christmas so I hope they were well compensated because everyone I encountered definitely deserves it. I know a lot of people don't tip enough or at all on online orders so we gave a larger tip than normal. I hope others did the same.
Can I also say we were all pleasantly surprised that not only was everything correct with the order (we never have 100% correct orders anywhere else I swear) but it was absolutely delicious! I know it's not a 5 star restaurant but it still really hit the spot and made the day end on a better note than it began on. Everyone working at the Ben White location on Christmas really should be well compensated for their organization and hard work. I hope they all got a nice bonus, and I mean cash, not some lame fruit basket or coupon lol....
Read moreThis was the worst experience it is I've ever experience I will never return to this location our food set on the counter for at least 20 minutes the manager is not doing her job she was outside and she came inside and walked around doing nothing and eating as well there was another employee wearing all black just walk around in circles doing nothing and there was only one lady doing her job searching on the customers and for them to have so few customers in here I don't see how it took them this world to give us our food we sat there for almost an hour shooting was cold and cold that they tried to serve us then my order was completely wrong the manager had a bad attitude and was very unprofessional still trying to figure out how she the man driving the restaurant and she did ask you about her job is inside the building not seeing outside doing nothing when you have a business with customers waiting we went to the counter so I could pay for the drink cuz I refuse to eat the food it took her forever to come to catch me out for the soda and she had to nerve to ask me what was wrong with the food that was served when you clearly can see what's cold and you walk past the food several times there's a man standing at the front waiting 15 minutes for them to make him an Oreo shake yet again there was only one person working she should have been the manager due to the unprofessional Manor of the manager she didn't act like a manager and I was actually shocked when they play that was actually working and told me she was the manager this location really needs to step up their standards come on I got better service going to a McDonald's that's where I end up having to go eat due to waiting so long for my food almost being late to work this location will never receive my business in the owner really needs to hire a new supervisor for the evening shift I went in around 8 pm on...
