I was looking forward to trying this place for a long time and I finally got the opportunity to go. I woke up early, 6 am early mind you. I got dressed and arrived at 6:45 am to be the second person in line. As more folks trickled in we sat and waiting for the truck to open. Once we saw that they were getting ready to open their window we all stood up and filed in line in order of when we got there, kind of an unspoken rule. While we did that a not so gentleman named Neil stood to the right of the coffee truck with two other people. A lot of us being first timers didn't know this is where the preferred line started. so once they were ready to serve, the barista kindly asked us to form the line to the right of the truck. To my surprise, Neal stated he would not be moving and would indeed be cutting everyone in line. Some of the people he cut drove from San Antonio and Dallas just to try this coffee.
I only write this for two reasons, and they don't sway my 4 star review.
It sounded like this man knew the owners and I hope by some chance it gets back to him that he dampened a few peoples first time experience. First time coffee goers, line up to the right of the truck that follows the wooden deck. Don't make our mistake
Overall, I had a great time with my friend. The food truck park is well maintained and the atmosphere is as cute as can be. The coffee was great and the owner was friendly and asked questions as he handed out samples of his cold brew - which was also great.
4/5 stars. I would go back to try the miso latte. I tried the blueberry which is what most folks in line were there to try. It's unique and the flavor isn't like any other coffee I've tried - it was...
Read moreBy far the greatest coffee shop I've ever been to. Fantastic drink selection, high-quality and thoughtfully-sourced Colombian coffee, and a fantastic staff! Working out of a cute food truck tucked away in East Austin, I'm continually amazed every time I make the long drive over there (which is from Northwest Austin for me, but is always worth it).
Expect a knowledgeable and fun staff that will give you a great experience every time you go! They are always happy to talk about coffee with you, and they've answered many questions for me about my own brewing at home! You can always tell they really want to go out-of-the-way and make sure you have a memorable experience there, and I really appreciate it. I can't really say I've ever been to another restaurant with this level of quality and effort for positive customer interactions.
What amazes me about Desnudo is not just their high-quality coffee (which by itself is amazing in every form), but the extremely unique flavor combinations they come up with in their specialty lattes. All of the flavors compliment each other in ways I never could've expected, and the result is a coffee drink that I cannot get ANYWHERE else. My personal favorite is the shoyu butterscotch latte, an insanely delicious flavor combination of sweet-and-savory with an Amarena cherry on top. And of course the new Chococloud latte (in the picture I've put with this review) reaches that same pinnacle of quality I've come to expect from them!
Coffee shops operating at this level are extremely rare. Do anything you can to...
Read moreIve tried most of the coffee shops in Austin, and coffee shops in most of the major coffee cities in the country, and hands down Desnudo is my favorite of them all. From the coffee itself, to the inventive seasonal drinks, to the atmosphere around the food truck park, nothing has topped it in my opinion. The cherry on top of all of that is the service. I have never been to a coffee shop with better service in my life. I’ve been to so many shops with coffee that is so incredible that you overlook the lack of service, but that can’t be said of Desnudo. On a Saturday morning you will wait in line, but everytime I’ve been one of the owners walks through the line with small sample cups of coffee and asks how everyone is doing and has a conversation. Not just small talk, an intentional conversation. No doubt talking to thousands of people a day. I’m not exaggerating when I say he remembers us everytime we go.
All of this hasn’t even mentioned the crème de la crème, the Boggy Berry. It’s to die for and worth arriving early on a Saturday to make sure you don’t miss it.
Not only that, their coffee subscription service is an insane value. We get 2 bags delivered every 2 weeks. They text us asking our preferences between their different rotating selections, and have even left notes in the deliveries. It comes down to $18 a bag total, and for the quality of the roast and their involvement in the farms it comes from, it’s an INSANE VALUE.
Support this business, they deserve all the success...
