"Terrible Service - Wrong Order, No Accountability"
I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering food from halal hub (North 183), and it was an absolute disaster. I wouldn't wish this kind of service on my worst enemy.
First of all, let me start by saying that I had high hopes for this place. I had heard good things about their food, and I was excited to try it out. I placed my order online, making sure to specify all my preferences and dietary restrictions clearly. However, when the delivery arrived, it was immediately clear that something had gone horribly wrong.
Not only did they get my order completely wrong, but it seemed like they didn't even bother to double-check it. I received a bag full of items I didn't order, including some items that I'm allergic to. It was not only disappointing but also potentially dangerous for my health.
I called the restaurant to complain about the mix-up, hoping they would be understanding and quick to rectify the situation. Instead, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of accountability. The person on the other end of the line seemed disinterested and even blamed me for not being specific enough in my order, even though I had been crystal clear.
To make matters worse, they refused to send the correct order or offer a refund. I had to eat food I didn't want and couldn't even enjoy. The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively.
In my opinion, a restaurant's true character is revealed when they make a mistake, and Halal Hub(North 183) failed miserably. Their terrible customer service and inability to take responsibility for their errors have ensured that I will never order from them again. I urge others to think twice before giving them your business. It's not worth the frustration and...
Read moreI was glad to see that this place was near my home and remembered it on my way home. I stopped by to order a combination plate: gyro and chicken. I was surprised to find the price lower than it's competitors for $10.99. Downtown Austin I would be paying more like $14.99 + tax. Obviously cost to operate is more costly downtown than in Lakeline (north Austin).
The place is your typical box restaurant in a shopping strip but the store was fairly clean and roomy. There were eleven tables that could seat four comfortably. Cushioned chairs made it comfortable to sit. Men's Restroom was clean. That's important as I see the state of the bathroom as the state in which they care for the rest of the establishment.
Now the food: Combination Plate - Gyro Over Rice. As reflected on the photos. I was impressed at how much they gave me. The tray was loaded! The moisture of the rice, gyro, and chicken were moist and tender. Perfect!👌it wasn't dry or over cooked. Just right! The vegetables were also fresh - not over ripe or soft. Just right! I also received an extra cup of creamy sauce and a side of hot sauce for those who like it spicy which I do.
To summarize my experience: I'll definitely be back for more Halal here! It's a great place. Affordable and the quality is...
Read moreI stopped by a few weeks ago while running between appointments. I came here expecting something delicious given previous reviews but was sorely disappointed.
The staff were not very friendly. But it was probably because they were working while sick. I heard one man coughing while in the kitchen and it sounded like he wasn’t even attempting to cover his mouth. Gross.
I ordered the chicken wrap. They put so much lettuce that it was overflowing from the wrap which made it difficult to eat on the go. It was also drenched in some kind of sauce which made the pita soggy to the point of falling apart. The chicken was also so dry it must’ve been overcooked. I wonder if they own a meat thermometer?
I was hopeful for the babaganoush given the cost but they gave me a very small dish of very dense dip that seemed like it had been prepared days ahead. It was very bitter which makes me think they don’t know how to sweat their eggplant. The flavor was very off, I had a hard time finishing it.
The mango lassi was the only saving grace. Though it was prepared in advance and very sweet it still had good mango flavor.
Overall, do...
