"Terrible Service - Wrong Order, No Accountability"

I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering food from halal hub (North 183), and it was an absolute disaster. I wouldn't wish this kind of service on my worst enemy.

First of all, let me start by saying that I had high hopes for this place. I had heard good things about their food, and I was excited to try it out. I placed my order online, making sure to specify all my preferences and dietary restrictions clearly. However, when the delivery arrived, it was immediately clear that something had gone horribly wrong.

Not only did they get my order completely wrong, but it seemed like they didn't even bother to double-check it. I received a bag full of items I didn't order, including some items that I'm allergic to. It was not only disappointing but also potentially dangerous for my health.

I called the restaurant to complain about the mix-up, hoping they would be understanding and quick to rectify the situation. Instead, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of accountability. The person on the other end of the line seemed disinterested and even blamed me for not being specific enough in my order, even though I had been crystal clear.

To make matters worse, they refused to send the correct order or offer a refund. I had to eat food I didn't want and couldn't even enjoy. The entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively.

In my opinion, a restaurant's true character is revealed when they make a mistake, and Halal Hub(North 183) failed miserably. Their terrible customer service and inability to take responsibility for their errors have ensured that I will never order from them again. I urge others to think twice before giving them your business. It's not worth the frustration and...

I was glad to see that this place was near my home and remembered it on my way home. I stopped by to order a combination plate: gyro and chicken. I was surprised to find the price lower than it's competitors for $10.99. Downtown Austin I would be paying more like $14.99 + tax. Obviously cost to operate is more costly downtown than in Lakeline (north Austin).

The place is your typical box restaurant in a shopping strip but the store was fairly clean and roomy. There were eleven tables that could seat four comfortably. Cushioned chairs made it comfortable to sit. Men's Restroom was clean. That's important as I see the state of the bathroom as the state in which they care for the rest of the establishment.

Now the food: Combination Plate - Gyro Over Rice. As reflected on the photos. I was impressed at how much they gave me. The tray was loaded! The moisture of the rice, gyro, and chicken were moist and tender. Perfect!👌it wasn't dry or over cooked. Just right! The vegetables were also fresh - not over ripe or soft. Just right! I also received an extra cup of creamy sauce and a side of hot sauce for those who like it spicy which I do.

To summarize my experience: I'll definitely be back for more Halal here! It's a great place. Affordable and the quality is...

I stopped by a few weeks ago while running between appointments. I came here expecting something delicious given previous reviews but was sorely disappointed.

The staff were not very friendly. But it was probably because they were working while sick. I heard one man coughing while in the kitchen and it sounded like he wasn’t even attempting to cover his mouth. Gross.

I ordered the chicken wrap. They put so much lettuce that it was overflowing from the wrap which made it difficult to eat on the go. It was also drenched in some kind of sauce which made the pita soggy to the point of falling apart. The chicken was also so dry it must’ve been overcooked. I wonder if they own a meat thermometer?

I was hopeful for the babaganoush given the cost but they gave me a very small dish of very dense dip that seemed like it had been prepared days ahead. It was very bitter which makes me think they don’t know how to sweat their eggplant. The flavor was very off, I had a hard time finishing it.

The mango lassi was the only saving grace. Though it was prepared in advance and very sweet it still had good mango flavor.

Overall, do...

Knew this place was had high potential when we were rung up by the sweetest kid behind the counter. Simple and clean restaurant, you order at the front and get your food when called. All meals come with a free drink. Ordered the Lamb Shawarma Over rice (#7) and Chicken Tikka Masala Platter (#19). They offer a few basic Indian dishes here, was intrigued to try and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Lamb Shawarma Over Rice- Heavily spiced tender slices of lamb. Rice and tahini sauce complemented the bold lamb flavor. Chicken Tikka Masala- Savory sauce with a slightly spicy kick, just enough for flavor but not set your mouth on fire. Chicken roasted perfectly, some smaller bits intermingled into the sauce with a few larger juicy bites of white meat. Came with two pieces of naan, super fluffy with a crisp charred exterior, lightly salted. The ideal naan texture to pair with the tikka masala sauce. You get a real bang for your buck here. Delicious food served in a no frills restaurant. Fairly large portions for the price. Looked like most people order to go instead of dining in. Quick service.

My wife and I were searching for a quick, good Mediterranean food restaurant nearby, and Google recommended this establishment. We approached this corner shop with somewhat difficult parking and saw a storefront which did not appear as it was clean when installed. The interior was not much better, and resembled a public area in Calcutta. Oddly enough, the bathrooms were surprisingly clean. The owner was present the only one present, and appeared from around a dirty, bamboo partition when the bell on the counter was rung. Regardless, he took our order, and despite my misgivings about the cleanliness of the interior, the food arrived promptly and my wife and I took out places and commenced our meal with plastic tableware while country classics blared in our ears. The falafel was perfect, with a perfect crispness which opened with a fragrance when bitten. The French fries were a triumph, and worth purchasing separate. The gyro meat was pretty good as was the rice. I would return and definitely recommend for TAKEOUT rather than dining in.
