So tonight my daughter who is pregnant with twins and in pre labor wanted some eggs with jalapenos at Ihop, so myself, her husband and my son went in around 1 or a little after, now the place was bare no one in there. Was meet at the desk by a young gentleman, asked him if it is usually not busy at this time..he answered I don't know(first no,no)..we sat down he followed us then asked what we wanted we asked to give us a moment, he came back in less than a minute with a shadow, we gathered he was in training because they both were at the table and he seemed confused. No customer service what so ever(second no, no) I asked for coffee, he quickly brought me back a jug of their coffee with no creamer, he seemed perturbed WHEN I asked him for some. He bought it and I poured my first cup out. THE COFFEE WAS ICE COLD. LIKE IT WAS SITTING OUT FOR HOURS. (THIRD NO, NO) HE then took our orders, my daughter order eggs, scrambled with onions and jalapenos and toast. My son ordered the silver 5, mini pancakes and medium scrambled eggs and bacon. (He got 1 large pancake, a spoonful of eggs and 2 slices of burnt bacon) (4th no, no) I order 2 whole grain pancakes, an order of harsh browns and 2 slices of bacon.( harsh brown was cold as if it was reheated, and soft and mushy) (5th no, no). I then asked for their little container of warmed SYRUP, because my son likes his SYRUP warmed. The server brought back a ceramic mini bowl with syrup, not telling me it was hot and I mean hot I picked it up and it burnt my fingers on my right hand ( damn this is about the 100th no ,no) now..I screamed in pain. No one came to ask what was wrong..when he came back to the table I asked why did he not bring the warm SYRUP or in this case the hottest!!! SYRUP in the jar they usually serve it in. He claimed he did not know. I could not even eat..I quickly hurried them on, on check out . The manager was standing there AND I told the server, my fingers are swollen , and the coffee was so cold. He again said okay and that was it. I was annoying at him..(after we left , we had to go to the emergency room, because my fingers were so red and swollen from the sticky hottest!! SYRUP. I am disgusted at this place..not even asking if I was okay or bringing me some ice or even their own burn cream. I am appalled and so angry at the attitude of these people. No heart or empathy what so ever. Now I know why people say what they say about this place. I am totally annoyed and upset. Only animals act this way..oh no I take this back.Animals still look out for there own...and shield them from harm. This place sucks!!!! Never again. This is the first time I did not tip!! And I never do this. I felt so hurt and annoyed at the way I was treated. I paid my bill and walked out of that door. Never ever to return. Disgusting , uncaring people!!!!! No customer service. Poor service!!! Heartless and all about money and not customers contentment. Train your workers to enjoy the customers. Treat each and every customer the same. Do not judge anyone. I am angry and totally upset. My fingers are all wrapped up and in pain all because somone was not trained properly to do their job!!!. Something will certainly become of...
Read moreOur party of 3 arrived around 10:45 P.M. . Another party of 18 came at the same time and was sat in 4 separate tables around the restaurant for different servers to handle the group and finally we were led to a booth at around 11. At 11:20 our server came by and asked for our drink orders and if we wanted to order our food now as the wait would likely be long. We said we understood and ordered a coke and 2 chocolate milks. During this time we were constantly looking for our server to let him know that we would be leaving if we couldnt get our food or refills, we finally saw him re-enter the building with a co-worker from the front door to which we could only assume they were taking a break. By 12:05 our server had not been by our table to either fill our drinks or bring food, I managed to wave him down and tell him to just bring our check for the drinks and we would go elsewhere. He apologized and said "Your food is ready can I get it for you to go?" I told him if it was indeed ready we would just eat it here no need for extra work but that I would not be waiting more than 5 minutes. My girlfriend and I heard him go into the kitchen and shout "I Need that grilled cheese and the 2x2 order now or my table is walking." He brought out the my food roughly 5 minutes later claiming he just needed to run back into the kitchen to get the others. My food.... was cold, (so cold that by the time we left the butter had still not melted ANY) he brought back the other plates and I informed him that my food was cold and that I would not be eating it. He told me he would get my meal comped and apologized again but asked if there was anything else we needed, we told him a refill for my coke and that my girlfriend would like a water because the chocolate milk wasn't that great. At 12:10 we asked for refills and my girlfriend and son started eating there food while I had nothing. During this time tables with customers were set around us who not only got drinks but both tables received their FOOD (Different server) before ours came back and told us that my meal had been comped and that he would come back with our check. ( Still no drink refills Current time was 12:30) He brings the check over and immediately leaves the table even though i have my card in hand. We get up and proceed over to the server stand and ask somebody to cash us out because I dont want to wait another 30 minutes for him to come back. He cash's us out and apologizes, I told him " If its not your fault then don't worry about it I just won't ever come back to this IHOP again" He responds with "Well I wouldn't blame you". Im posting this here because in the contact us section for Ihop's website has a maximum character length of 1500.
Returned: The regional manager reached out to me and vigorously apologized and sent me 3 free meal vouchers to give them another chance. My food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. However when i presented my vouchers SIGNED by the regional manager, I was told that i couldn't use all 3 during a single visit. I had to bring another manager over to get the situation cleared up but other than that i was pleased by my...
Read moreArrived at this near full parking lot at the restaurant with my two grandchildren 10 & 8 on Sunday morning at 10:45. We had a 24 min wait just to be seated. There appeared to be some chaos amongst the staff with each telling the front greeter to do different things. Our table was still wet from being wiped when we were seated. Our waiter informed us the table beside us “has been waiting over 30 min for their food, that’s why I was fighting with the manager about seating any more people when the kitchen is so backed up.” I thought this to be inappropriate to discuss with a customer. We gave our drink orders and he left us with menus and we made our choices but waited over 15 minutes before our waiter came back with our drinks. He put them on the table and carried on before asking us what we wanted to eat. We watched as he took orders from people seated after us and I had to flag him down to put our order in after we had already been seated 25 minutes. We waited the expected 30 min after ordering only to have our waiter come tell us the kitchen had cancelled our order so we had to put it in again! We did and asked for refills on the drinks. Waited another 20 min before coffee refill showed up. I entertained the kids with word games but they were naturally getting irritable and fidgety by this time. Another 25 minutes went by before our food finally showed up, but in all that time our waiter hadn’t ensured we had cutlery so our food got cold as we waited for utensils. We were eventually given plastic take out utensils “because they were out of clean cutlery.” While we ate the cool but very delicious food (the only high part of the experience) we could hear someone yelling at the staff about doing things wrong and messing up, etc. VERY awkward and very inappropriate for a person in authority to do to staff in front of customers. We left with our food in containers to escape the manager (?) staff arguing. Despite the pancakes being so tasty, they weren’t worth the poor service or atmosphere! Even 8 commented that it’s not nice to talk to the waiters like that in front of customers. Pity an 8 yr old knew more than the staff leader who obviously was not demonstrating the skills to lead and run a...
