I recently visited Fire Bowl Cafe in Austin, TX, and had an outstanding dining experience. I ordered the crab rangoons, a pork egg roll, and fried rice bowl with bell peppers, green onions, broccoli, carrots, and edamame.
The crab rangoons were crispy on the outside and delightfully creamy on the inside, with a perfect balance of flavors. They were not oily or cold which happens time to time at other places. The egg roll was fresh and crunchy, with a savory filling that left me wanting more. I just like to dip it a lil in the sweet and sour sauce and make it a lil saucey!!
The highlight of my meal was the fried rice. It was perfectly cooked, with each grain having the right amount of bite. The combination of bell peppers, green onions, broccoli, carrots, and edamame added vibrant colors and fresh flavors, making the dish not only delicious but also nutritious. I also get an extra egg inside it so give it that extra flavor that’s a lil Smokey ! The vegetables were cooked to perfection, maintaining their crunch and enhancing the overall texture of the dish.I also like to get the hot oil on the side so I can pour it in a lil bit at a time and a little looped d loooop of peanut sauce I usually ask for this after I get my meal it’s an extra kick to the bowl that I must have every time.
So The service was prompt and friendly, the lines are only long during lunch but usually after 3pm it’s very quick and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Fire Bowl Cafe is definitely a spot I've be returning to for the last 20 years seriously whenever I'm in the Austin area I make sure to hit it up every other time I go.i Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious, fresh Asian cuisine in Austin try it let me know how...
Read moreI really was excited to see a Fire Bowl location in the Cedar Park area, I used to eat at the San Antonio location a lot. Things have changed since I last ate there. I ordered egg rolls, and Dumplings for appetizers. The egg rolls were really good, crispy and steaming hot. The Dumplings however were not completely steamed or they sat in the window awhile, they were kinda cold in the center. I also ordered Hot and Sour soup, and Miso soup for my guest. The Hot and Sour was not as flavorful as it used to be, however the Miso was pretty good. Then the actual bowls, one with beef and the other was a vegetarian bowl. The Beef bowl was decent but not great , the sauce on both entrées was water thin almost and the vegetarian meal was really not good. Overall this place could stand to improve on their quality control, also the staff was not very friendly and seemed bothered by the fact I asked for chopsticks and my eggrolls when I realized they hadn't come out with everything else. I am easy going and not demanding, but I do expect the basic service standards IF you expect me to tip upfront when I pay...
Read moreI used to go to this place once a week, but then they got rid of my favorite dish. Then they got rid of my 2nd favorite dish, Then they stopped taking cash. Now they serve your dine-in meal in a cardboard bowl which makes it difficult to cut large pieces of meat. Their food used to be served in wide ceramic bowls that you could use a knife and fork to cut the large pieces of meat within. My wife asked if they could cut the beef into smaller pieces before they stir fried it. They said they couldn't, So my wife had to pick out her beef and tear it into smaller pieces which burned her fingers. I had already stopped coming to this restaurant months ago for the 1st 3 reasons. After the last reason my wife decided to stop going as well. There are simply too many restaurants out there who are perfectly willing to take my cash and accommodate simple requests Like cutting large hard to swallow pieces of meat into smaller easier swallowed pieces of meat. The food is good but we won't be going back , just...
