---- I wanted to post an update to my last review--which was a pretty horrible experience. Pluckers reached out to us and offered us a $25 gift card to give them another try. We were hesitant but my husband remembered a server we once had who was terrific so we swung by and he asked if he was working. They said yes but noted that he was working the patio--during some pretty rough weather. We decided to ask to sit in his area. Service was terrific, the food came out quickly (the kitchen did a great job!) and the weather ended up being kind of fun! Our server Nicholas managed to handle several tables while tending to us to the point that we never had to ask for anything. We've had some pretty good servers in the past but I think management really needs to use Nicholas as a gauge to measure others. We will DEFINITELY be back and always make sure we request him by name! THANK YOU NICHOLAS! UPDATE: The GM emailed to say she reviewed tapes etc and said she didn't see anything out of the ordinary as tvs are auto set to turn off and we still had lights where we sat. She said the patio was closed and provided reasons for everything that occurred. She apologized and invited us back. I hope the store returns the to great customer service that used to be standard.
Something is seriously wrong at the Cedar Park location—especially after reading a review from just yesterday that is nearly exactly our experience. SATURDAY EVENING 4/10 We put ourself in line on yelp and we were there by 920. We asked for any table. The guy said it would be 45 min to 1hr and we still decided to wait. About an hour later we were called.... even though we could only see 1 small party on the patio entire time. When we were being shown to our table, imagine our surprise to see at LEAST 10(probably more) empty tables(not due to socially distancing) I assume now that they forced a long wait because they wanted to deter people from eating there so they could start cleaning earlier with a half empty dining room. We received our food about 11pm(closing time) about the same time they brought us our ticket AND OUR APPETIZER! No plates, no napkins. Anything we asked for was brought after another reminder because our waited was "tired after a long day" They brought my Bypass burger out with no toppings. The girl took it back and said it was because the cook was new. She brought back the SAME BURGER(she told me he just fixed it) with a ridiculous amount of topping and a small dot of pluckers sauce so I asked for more sauce for my dry burger that I was then charged EXTRA for. I thought it was policy not to take a burger I had been served and handled back INTO the kitchen for sanitary/ food safety/ covid reasons?? We had a few other issues. 20 min after we first received our food and only 1/3 into our meal- especially since we only just received our appetizer and food corrections..... THEY TURN OFF ALL THE TVS....... AND NEARLY ALL THE LIGHTS. There were at least 8 tables at that point that quickly packed up their food as we were basically being thrown out!. We were the 2nd to last table. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN!!! I'd rather drive 20 min to Burnet Rd for quality food and service. THE MANAGER ACTUALLY HUFFED WHEN WE ASKED HIM FOR LIDS BECAUSE I SERVER WAS NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. Another young lady offered to get them for him. I waiting 4 extra min hoping to get a cup to take my drink and no one ever came back. Laziness, rudeness and poor food safety are all you have to look forward to here. My son received his name on a plaque at another location because he goes so often but he refused to go to this one. ...
Read moreI was recently craving wings and decided to visit this "famous" Pluckers Wing Bar, I should've just turn around and go somewhere else!
It was great the day I went wasn't busy so I got to pick where to sit down, I chose the outside area (wrong choice). To starts, table were dirty, full of dust and some not even cleaned up from the last party that sat down, it's no like the staff was busy, because it wasn't busy at the time, they just ignored the tables or maybe were short staffed. Who know, but the area looked dirty this way.
My sever proceeded to take my order, he was super nice, no complains here, my beef is with the food. My server was friendly, attentive and fast. One star for the service added. I ordered the wings with mild buffalo sauce and a side of fries and house lemonade.
Lemonade was the best, very refreshing and not Chick-fil-a super sweet. Then my order arrived, at first glance looked OK, I was starving so I decided to dig in...I almost lost my front teeth with the first bite! The wings were super-hard-dry, I digger in more and below the wings that were smothered on more sauce were the dry ones (I ordered 15 by the way - special on that day and yes, I was STARVING I could've eaten a whole cow that day!). Anyhow, they were so dry they looked as if there were either sitting for way too long before being served or from the day before...almost no sauce and hard to eat, then had a bite of my fries when I realized that under the bigger waffle fries laid the remaining of what used to be whole waffles, they were just bits of them...R.I.P.
At this point I'm really upset, I ate the ones that looked decent for both the wings and fries, I was so tired from a day of work with no time for lunch and all I wanted was to get a decent meal after getting paid and go home to feed my cat and cuddle with her. I got to take new cup of lemonade to go and off to home stomach half empty.
This weekend I went to HEB, got me some fresh made wings from them, bought some good Frank's Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce, ranch dip packet, sour cream and off to home to prepare the most delicious wings bathe in HBS sauce with a side of ranch dip, all for under $15 bucks! Follow my "recipe" if you don't want to waste your money at this place, either go somewhere else, or do it yourself, fast, easy and...
Read moreUpdate: 6 years since I last reviewed this business and it is still a disappointment. Now the bartenders are even horrible. The female bartender with red hair should find another occupation because she is wretched. After 30 minutes of waiting I finally got the margarita I ordered. When a bartender can't make a simple margarita is when it's time to move on. Food was okay. Will try no to be back.. Save your money, time and frustration. This place still isn't worth it. Manager took the drink off the check since I didn't drink more than a few sips of it. Didn't do anything to remedy the fact that we waited for 30 minutes to get our drinks and didn't get them until after we got our appeteizer and entrees. Wife's drink was still on there. A good manager would have come up to the table and apologized for such a poor experience and probably would have taken both drinks off the check. Our waiter did a good job but that's about it. Poor management leads to poor service so not surprised. Do better and make the owner happy .. maybe even try to make the customer happy... makes sense right?
6yrs ago: Down from 5 stars 2 years ago to 1 star today. After 4 recent visits I am able to confidently say that Pluckers is not what it use to be.... Prices have gone up and food quality has gone wayyyyy down. My wife's favorite thing to eat has also been discontinued (Potato Cassarole). The mac and cheese seems watery and bland compared to how it use to be (Thick and flavorful). The wings are a hard thing to screw up so naturally they have not changed much. Thr parking lot could easily qualify for the worst in Austin. Parking spaces are so small I worry that im going to come back to my car having dings in the doors. People are forced to park ridiculously close to each other. I feel bad for anyone who has a larger body than average because it looks like it would be impossible to exit your vehicle. Looks like the place was designed for smart cars but im pretty sure the owners were just being cheap. We are pluckers card members but I think im going to shred the card. Very unsatisfied and disappointed. Two thumbs down 👎👎 Should have gone to Chili's...
