I am reminded why I never really go to KFC anymore. At best they are decent, but this was the worst experience I've had at any Fast Food joint by far
on 6/19/24 in the drive through @5:10pm I order a #8, 3 piece big box meal, 2 thighs and a drumstick, and 4 apple poppers. After paying I was immediately told to park, while they get my food out. 15 minutes go by, and nobody is coming out to deliver food to me, or any of the other cars that's waiting. I proceeded to walk in.
The converstation went as follows: Me: I've ordered 15 minutes ago, how long more is it going to be? Cashier: What's your name? Me: Cashier: what did you order? Me: what do you mean, is it not on the screen? Cashier: I don't see it. Me: #8, 3-piece meal with the 4-piece apple poppers. Cashier: Is that the big box meal? Me: I guess so, you should know it better than I do.
Me: Are you telling me this whole time it was ready, and no one came out to deliver it? Cashier: I guess, I just started, there's only 2 people in the kitchen
So I grabbed my bag, go on to drive home. Along the way, I figure I open up the box, and grab some fries, and lo and behold, it was room temperature. "OH HELL NO!!" I thought to myself. So checked the biscuit, also room temperature, then I check the chicken pieces. They gave me a chicked WING, not a leg, and two pieces of thighs that were maybe 10% bigger than the wing, no exaggeration, AND of course, they too were room temperature.
I drove to the HEB just down the road, and threw it in the trash while I went in HEB to get one of their ready made chicken wings for 8 dollars, approximately 10 wings.
As soon as I got home, I filed a complaint with KFC corporate, and asked for a refund. They say the voucher will arrive in the mail in 7-10 business...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: still awful. I hadn't been back in nearly 3-years but thought ok time to give them another chance. Wrong! Still bad! Firstly, the advertised special on tv? NOPE, they don't honor it! Secondly, when I try to talk to the "manager" (probably assistant night manager trainee?) she couldn't even communicate in English! Maybe she knows how to read pictures and punch buttons on a register, but she can't speak and respond to my questions! The kfc app also fails to function! So she can't talk, ok, I'll use the app. NOPE! It never activated! I tried and tried again. I was there on the store over 20 minutes, and never was able to use the app. And leaving? Their door is broken so it was difficult to leave. Like a roach motel: you can check in, but you can't check out!!
Enough. I gave them almost 3-yr to improve. Now I'll give them another 3-yr before I go back. Maybe a Golden Chick restaurant will be there instead... buh-BYE!!
From my review 2023: WARNING! Today 24aug23 7:55pm the checkout lady tried to CHEAT me! Count your change before you drive away. I paid with a $50 and she returned $10 shy of the correct amount. Errors happen, we're all human, right? Well, this is the second time in a row that this has happened to me here at this location! This was orchestrated, and if the Manager or Owner has access to video there, check it! She was obviously creating a distraction before giving me the deficient change. then she ignored me when I tried to get her attention; she was hoping I'd just drive away. So, Sunday noon early November 2023, I ordered a 6-piece chicken tenders (just the chicken) to-go. Just as I paid, the kitchen staff had my order ready - wow, was impressive.
I never had any issues with my orders from this place in the past and didn't bother to check the contents. When I got home, saw one of the Tenders was super slim, less than 1/4" thick & half then normal length, the other half less than 1/8' thick. If the chicken could speak, it'd be embarrassed to call itself even a chicken, let alone a Tender strip. No wonder the kitchen was so quick to bag it up, she was waiting for the opportunity to rid these!
I went back to complain and noticed the kitchen staff had to rummage through the drawer to replace it. I was then told she'd given me two pieces. When I looked inside - there were indeed two SHORT pieces, that if placed end-to-end would be a tad shorter than a regular Tender ... geez š. Frustrated, I just accepted it. Take out orders was her opportunity to rid herself of rejects (or seconds).
I'll order the same next week and give them a second chance, will give feedback here. Update - it was a tad better, but still mediocre.
I don't know if the franchisee is aware of this. I feel bad about writing negative reviews but saw there were quite a bit of one-star reviews and it somehow alleviated my anxiety. Hope management addresses the complaints. Their one-star reviews were approximately half of their five-star ones. š§
