Display for Blueberry, injeolmi and redbean, and green tea bingsu look nothing alike to the actual bingsus you will receive. However, their taste is overall good (4/5) with some blandness once you get below the middle. I recommend saving some fruits or syrup for the bottom.
The smoothies there or at least the banana and strawberry was awful, but I'm told by friends that most of their smoothies taste awful especially for their expensive price.
The boba tea is good, but be warned if you dont like sweet stuff, they aren't for you.In addition, it is more like a smoothie texture than tea (except for the esspresso and milk tea)
Should you get the Taiyaki? Yes! They taste so lovely and the filling inside adds an extra flavor depending on what you like. I would recommend their ham and cheese ones since they are the ones I've enjoyed the most, but all of them are delicious.
Most employees have trouble with the coffee, but the taste is still nice.
Their customer service is one of the best things they have to offer. All employees I have met, are well educated in their menu and have great manners. You don't feel rushed or pressured even if you are giving a large order. They give a nice genuine greeting when entering.
Nice background music of top hits (warning: Songs may not always be appropriate and can be way to repetitive)
If you want quick service it is best to go on weekdays such as Monday-Thursday because it is not so full and their is a small wait compared to Friday-Sunday where you'll be lucky to find a seat and will most likely have to wait for 20+ minutes.
Their prices are high if you are ordering a bingsu, however they are good to share between 3-4 people, so it's not horrible.
I've enjoyed this place so far and recommend it to anyone else out there not sure as to whether they should...
Read moreI was super impressed with the bingsu I had for the first time on a trip in Hawaii (for anyone who may have a chance to go and is interested, it's Jejubing in Honolulu). So when I got back, I started searching if there is something similar around. I was excited to find this place, and the pictures seemed appealing. Unfortunately, after finally getting a chance to try, I realized that the bingsu here was not nearly as good. The injeomi & red bean bingsu had too many ingredients in it, complicating it in an unpleasant way. The chewy feel was not what I expected, and it was overly sweet. The Oreo cheesecake bingsu my wife had was also not better.
I will probably try some fruit flavor next time to see if I will change my mind.
The food here is also on a pricey side. Bingsu of a similar size is priced nearly 40% higher than the shop in Hawaii, which is definitely surprising considering that the living expenses in Honolulu are generally much higher...
Read moreThe Korean-style shaved ice here is excellent. The ice is actually quite sweet, flavorful, and milky and even though we didn't receive some condensed milk on the side that you usually expect from bingsu places but it was not needed. I highly recommend the injeolmi (rice cake) over the strawberry or Oreo flavors because it's more unique. I wish they would have green tea and black sesame flavors too but the basic taste of the ice is at least good.
I'm not sure I would get the other foods here because they seem quite basic enough to make at home (or at least buy the frozen pre-made versions from H Mart). There are only 2 or 3 workers here at a time and most likely they're just reheating prepared foods anyway. Drinks in general are pretty expensive everywhere and this place has average prices ($4-6). Since there are so few workers here though you should be prepared to wait 10+ minutes after ordering...
