I am deeply disappointed with the declining standard of service at the La Madeleine establishment I once held in high regard. My recent experience has been nothing short of abysmal, compounding my existing frustrations amidst a demanding academic schedule and deteriorating health.
As a diligent STEM major facing imminent physics and organic chemistry examinations, time is of the essence. In an effort to alleviate the burden of meal preparation during this critical period, I sought the convenience of a to-go order from La Madeleine. However, my expectations were dashed as they failed to fulfill the entirety of my order, neglecting essential components of my meal.
Financial constraints exacerbate the situation, rendering dining out a luxury I cannot afford. Yet, circumstances compelled me to deviate from prudent spending habits due to incapacitating illness and time constraints. The omission of the steak portion, the main portion of my meal, coupled with the incomplete delivery of desserts, is utterly unacceptable.
One would reasonably anticipate that payment for a meal entitles one to its complete contents. At this juncture, my primary concern is sustenance to sustain me through a demanding week fraught with academic commitments in the STEM field and recuperation from illness, precipitated by relentless studying and community service endeavors amidst adverse weather conditions (cold and rainy weather at an outdoor event).
Regrettably, my once-favorable perception of this establishment has been marred by its evident decline in quality and service standards. Such negligence is profoundly frustrating, particularly in light of the pivotal role sustenance plays in maintaining my energy levels and facilitating recovery.
I am now bereft of money to replace the food that this restaurant failed to provide in the first place. I checked to make sure all of the boxes were there and there were the same number of boxes as meals I had ordered in my bag. However, I assume they split up parts of the order into different boxes as I did not receive everything I paid for. I did not have time to sit and individually open each box and I felt like I was going to pass out and throw up. It is reasonably also not my job to make sure everything I paid for is in my bag but rather the...
Read moreI am a huge La Medeleine fan, but this particular location needs some serious help.
We walked in and a younger lady was in front of asking for an application to work at the restaurant, the cashier had no idea where the applications were so she went and got the manager who also had no idea. While waiting 10 minutes for them to find the application the cashier could have had her step aside while she tended to us (and 3-4 other people in line behind us), but everyone had to wait for the manager to walk around (with a very slow pace) trying to find the correct paperwork.
We finally got a chance to order and the cashier was just very awkward and slow in asking us what we wanted (she might have been new though so not a big deal). I specifically asked for the dressing of my salad to be mixed with the lettuce (to-go order which they usually give you dressing on the side). I checked my receipt as soon as I paid which said "Dressing on salad".
We then waited around 15-20 minutes before I saw the same manager begin making our salads. It seemed like they were extremely understaffed for a Sunday afternoon. I can understand if someone called out sick or quit that day but the manager was working with absolutely zero urgency. The manager made the salad and put no dressing on which I asked her as soon as she bagged it to make it again and she looked at me rudely. She said I didn't ask for dressing to be mixed, and I said check the receipt and she looked and just put her head down and started making a new one.
She then begin to make my wife's salad which has bacon on it. She bagged it up and I checked and noticed there wasn't any bacon, she took another 2-3 minutes to go find where the bacon was and returned with it in a container. As I was leaving out the door I overheard another patron say "The soda machine isn't working"
Maybe it was just a bad day for this location, but having worked in retail you have to put up with it and show some urgency. If I saw her running around and going as fast as I thought she could, I would have been a little more patient and not written this review. Her lack of a good attitude and carelessness isn't acceptable and I will not be back to...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I came here yesterday, we ordered a soup, a sandwich, an iced latte, a pre-packaged cookie and a croissant. The tomato basil soup was quite literally the worst tomato soup I have ever tasted. It tasted old and microwaved, and was sour beyond belief. How do you make a tomato basil soup so sour? We had ordered a baguette on the side, they forgot it. My girlfriend and I both agreed their croissant was noticeably lower quality than the one we bought at Starbuck's earlier in the week. (Pitiful...) The sandwich I bought was a Large, it was called "Chicken Riviera". It was okay, but the bread was very hard almost to the point it hurt my mouth. It was also put together veryy sloppily, (avocado drenching the top-side of the sandwich bread) and they didn't even cut the large sandwich in half! What kind of bistro doesn't cut your large sandwich in half for you? It was put together so sloppily, I had to cut it in half myself before I could even attempt to eat it! The pre-packaged cookie was nice, but they don't make those in store. My iced latte was delicious, I will say. However, virtually everything else about the visit was extremely disappointing. We decided to give La Madeleine another try because I was tired of how often I find myself at Starbuck's for similar products. After this last time, I will never make that mistake again and I urge you to save your money as well, and probably more importantly; your time. The first time my girlfriend and I ate here a couple of months ago, we ordered two coffees and two pastries and it took 45 minutes for them to arrive at our table. Their laughable service is a running joke around Cedar Park honestly, a lot of people have heard about how miserably slow and unattentive they are. Of course we should show some sympathy for these restaurants who lost a lot of staff during Covid, but at the same time if a business simply does not possess the means to deliver to their customers the quality that they advertise, they should close down. La Madeleine may not care about customer satisfaction quite as much as...
