Absolutely terrible, food and service, and has been since the pandemic.  Used to be my fav and sent all New Yorkers missing NY pizza here, but never again.  If I'm spending $40-$50 for one pizza and a sandwich in Austin, Texas, you better make sure the customer is absolutely happy.

Last time, spent a fortune and got a BLT that WAS NOT TOASTED and when I called the Woodrow location, they gaslighted me and said they "checked the kitchen and the cooks toasted it".

Um.

Why would I waste my time calling in if it were actually toasted?  Who has the most to lose by telling the truth and would lie to not get in trouble at work here?  Not me.  Asked for the owners to call me and, of course, they never did.

And the kicker, they think you need to have the knowledge of their employees and tell them you want it "double toasted", which is what I was told. Classic, blaming the victim/customer, which is what these kinds of people always do.  I had been going there for YEARS when in Austin and have NEVER had to do that.  Furthermore, I don't work for you and if that is some weird I don't know what because every other restaurant in America doesn't make you ask for "double toasted" if you don't want you bread raw, then your actual employees should tell a customer that upon ordering.  They did say it's a regular problem, so....

Months go by because I refuse to give people like this my business anymore, and I'm close to a different location, so I try this today because I really did love the place and when I miss Manhattan, it comforts me...BLT toasted, but not great- only because I made a federal case out of it to make sure it was toasted, took away a lot of the bacon that used to be decadent and overloaded and made the sandwich, and THEN...I wasn't asked if I wanted parm and red pepper for the take away pizza, which is fine, but when I did ask, you can see, the tiny, tiny, tiny bit of parm that I was given for an entire large 18 inch pizza.

Which also isn't good anymore, has a thicker crust and not a NY pizza crust anymore.

And when I asked for more, I got the silent attitude like I have an issue.

If the food had just not been great, I wouldn't have even wasted my life writing this review, but with the way I was treated at the Woodrow location and then thinking that small amount of parm is what one should receive for a THIRTY DOLLAR large PEPPERONI ONLY pizza...these people and this company doesn't deserve to be in business anymore.

If you're in Austin hankering for good pizza, you're going to have to suffer through the huge wait at Home Slice.  There's a reason why that place is jam packed 24/7 and this place is not.

*First photo normal amount of parm begrudgingly given to me after asking for more, 2nd photo original tiny tiny bit...

Ordered 2 pizzas from here last Friday (spent over $50 dollars) the first pizza which we had Friday night, (original meat combo) tasted fine. But then. the sausage pizza, which we had Sunday, tasted spoiled so we called the next day and spoke to Juan and he said he would take care of us, the next time we went in….So then today I decided to give them another chance, and when I went in I told them what happened and Juan was the one who I actually ended up speaking with, and he basically backtracked and acted like he never said that, and all he offered was a cheap dessert or a tiny bag of chips instead of the pizza that I wasted $22 on. And his reasoning was that I didn’t call that day (sunday) which makes zero sense considering that they’re closed that day. And he actually asked if I had just left the pizza sitting out for thise prior 2 days and that’s bow it became spoiled…..rather than taking some accountability.

It really bothers me considering that I have came here numerous times since moving to Austin and I have 1 bad experience and they won’t even truly do anything about it.

Never waste your money...

Hey friends!

This food was so fresh and tasty, I was still thinking about it hours later! My colleague suggested we stop by after a site visit, and I’m glad we did because it turned out to be a real treat. I decided on the club sandwich, and let me tell you, it was not only delicious but also a huge portion. The bread was soft and fresh, the layers of meat and vegetables were stacked generously, and everything was balanced perfectly. I’m pretty sure it even came with a pickle on the side, which was a nice touch that made the whole plate feel complete.

I also tried one of their deviled eggs. Honestly, it was a little too plain for my taste, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience because everything else was outstanding. The flavors were bright, the presentation was clean, and you could tell that the ingredients were thoughtfully chosen.

It’s definitely more of a gourmet sandwich spot, so the prices are higher than somewhere like ThunderCloud, but I felt it was worth it for the quality and freshness. I’d absolutely recommend stopping by when you want something a little more special than your...

I ordered a medium speciality #7 pie with mushrooms for pick up. They said they normally do not take orders less than 3 pies but they were kind enough to take my order. I paid with my CC over the phone. The pie was fresh and out the oven when I came into the restaurant. The place also has plenty of seating and was very clean. My pie was ready and I bought a chocolate cookies to go since it looked so good. The pizza was very fresh and delicious. The sauce was tangy , zesty, and salted like a NY slice. There was a good fold to it, it wasn’t as crunchy as I’d like but nothing an air fryer can’t fix. It was also thin. The taste is very good and far superior to home slice. I’m from NYC born and raised so this was a great find. The cookie was big, chunky with walnuts and chewy in the inside and crunchy on the outside. I can’t wait to come back!!!
