I thought the food was mediocre and the prices were outrageous. I do not plan to go back. I had never been before, so it holds no sentimental value for me. In the mail, I received a coupon for a $6 Lu Ann Platter; I figured that would fill me up, and $6 seemed reasonable for a good meal, so I gave it a shot. The line service-people were unfriendly and unhelpful (except for one who explained that a certain dish was spinach, when I asked if it might not be collards) and I just sort of made it up as I went down the line. I ended up with a Lu Ann platter (I guess this must be the default) comprising Chopped Steak, mac & cheese, and spinach, with a whole wheat roll. As I said, the food was mediocre -- not bad, but considering how unhealthy I believe it was, it didn't even taste that good. The roll (wheat! b/c I think about my health!) was GLISTENING with butter. And it was still the worst tasting part of the meal. I guess I didn't have too much against the chopped steak, especially after a staff member offered to bring me condiments, including A1, which was nice of her (that was, in fact, the best part of my experience). I also enjoyed the christmas music and decorations, and I liked the other customers, all of whom seemed friendly, if a bit lonely (perhaps like myself).
$6 for the platter would have been reasonable, but I would not consider it a great deal. Normally it's $7.89, which I would say was very high for mediocre cafeteria food. I also got an Arnold Palmer when I saw lemonade (which turned out to be pink...) in the soda fountain. The drink was $2.25. I don't know how this place manages to stay in business with such poor service/quality at that high of a price. I...

They do pricing, math and business differently here.
They charge 5% for food to go packaging. The cost for packaging ought be included in the price of the food and drink. What's next? Charging us for the lights and air in the building? A receipt charge? Parking? This review?
On the bottom of the receipt they disclose, in large, bold font: "* Indicates tax free item(s)," which begs the question, what's there tax free? I'll tell you what's not, their surcharge tax on to go packaging. 8.25% on 5% of subtotal plus subtotal.
Taxed by taxers also being taxed. This taxed here noticed the overtaxing by a hundredth. 8.26 versus the statutory 8.25. Does this surplus go to the fed or is this secret overcharge going to business for more %&#×#\ $?
I suppose it doesn't matter since it's negligible. It's hardly illegal or an instance of deceptive trade practice....barely malfeasance. Just like the incorrect totaling of subtotal and excess charge(s), taxes.
The penny short is only a penny. But if it's a penny every order and this is order 79528770017, that's $795 million. Business, math...done differently.
Food wise, everything was fat; extra buttery, greasy and oily; except the bread. The cornbread was dry, with too much baking powder.
Thank you,...
Read moreSo about 2 weeks I go through Luby’s drive thru at Anderson and 183. I order chicken fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and a roll. I get all the way to my parent’s house in Pflugerville only to discover they gave me chicken fried steak instead. This I where the fun starts. I call back to the restaurant and push 1 for manager or employee no answer. I press 2 for online order no answer. I call back and press 3 for catering and finally get Joe who says he’s a manager. I explained to him what happened and he says no problem. He tells me he’s putting my name on a list and when she come back through the drive thru the next time my meal will be taken care of. So a week later I pull up to drive thru to get my free meal due to their error. The drive thru worker says I have to get out of my car and come inside so they can check the list. Never mind that I just waited in the drive thru line for 15 minutes. I left that day without my free meal due to their error. I go in today and they get the manager James to go check the list on the computer in the back of the store. I ask him why I have to be inconvenienced for their mistake and he says because it clogs up the drive thru line. How about get the order right in the first place? Since no one is answering any of their phones. No wonder they are closing Luby’s. Customer service is a thing...
