So it is very hard for me to even give 1 star to this location. I was promised my order at 6:45 and I was there at 6:40 waiting on my pizza. I asked about it and they said it was being made now. At about 6:45, I heard what I thought was my name "Rick" and another guy stepped up and claimed the pizza. I went up and asked what name they called and he repeated back what I thought was Rick, after two times he indicated it was Brick with a B that he called. So I stepped back and continued to wait. A few minutes later the same guy came in and said that was not his order and he needed his order. I looked at what I he returned and he had already taken a bit of a piece of pizza before returning. At this point it was already 10 minutes late so I requested a refund. While going through the refund process and prior to giving me the refund, my name was called. I then assumed I was getting my pizza so I left. When I arrived, I opened my pizza only to find that they had packaged up the pizza the guy returned and handed it to me even though he had returned the pizza after eating some of it. It was the most discussing thing I have ever experienced at a dining establishment. I will never return to this location. I called and supposedly I will be getting a refund. I took the general managers name and I will be calling him tomorrow on 3/30. Good luck if you choose to go to this place. If they package up returned eaten pizza and hand it to customers, there is no telling what they will do to your pizza...
Read moreMOD Pizza is like a Qdoba for pizza. You pay a fixed price ($7.47 for 11") and put whatever toppings you want on top. If you're overwhelmed by the sheer number of options, just choose from one of the pre-defined Classics. But if you really want to get the best bang for your buck, just keep piling on the toppings. They won't stop you. Go crazy.
The assembly was a bit slow but I think that was more from employee inexperience than ineptness. Or maybe because I kept talking to them. Either way, I'm sure it'll speed up once they figure out the best way to sling pies. Once in the oven, it took about 5-10 minutes for delivery to your table.
As far as the pizza goes, it's quite solid. Stylistically, it's probably most similar to the thin-crust offerings of House Pizzeria west on 51st at Airport Blvd. Obviously the experiences are quite different since MOD Pizzeria is much more modern (and a chain) but the pizza is just as tasty. The 11" crust is definitely a good meal for a single person but that obviously changes depending on how many toppings you add.
My only complaint was that the interior was absolutely FREEZING. While it's probably quite comfortable next to the pizza oven, it was far too cold to sit inside. Fortunately they have a ton of...
Read moreI know there are a lot of other great pizza places in Austin but I keep going back to MOD for several reasons. They are great for people with dietary restrictions. My vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and nightshade allergy folks can all go here and find something yummy to eat. I, personally, can’t eat tomatoes so I love that they have several sauce options that aren’t tomato based. The garlic rub and the white sauce are my favorites. MOD also has a lot of topping options and don’t charge extra for more toppings. Their ricotta cheese is great on a veggie pizza. Everything is fresh. Their crust is nice and thin and crispy so I don’t feel like I’m eating a whole loaf of bread when I eat a couple slices of pizza. Their online ordering system is really good and easy to use. It just takes a minute or two to put in an order and then pick it up from the store. The employees are MOD are very kind and helpful. They do a great job making sure I get all my toppings and that the bake is just right on the pizza. Compared to other chains, this is the best pizza...
