Mousam Spice House (Central Austin) Nepali and Indian Food — Restaurant in Austin

I ordered Chicken Biryani, and it was horrible!! The seasoning was off, and the chicken leg (the only one you get in this 15.00 dish) was dry and severely overcooked! I barely ate any of it. I brought it back to the food truck. They would not give money back or exchange for a new dish. 15.00 wasted. I should have known something was wrong when the chicken was buried at the very bottom of the carton. Usually, a chef would proudly show off the protein on top. The same cook I had when I originally ordered it looked at the obviously overcooked non edible chicken with a puzzled look on his face as if nothing was wrong with it?!? I will never get food from these guys again. I would give no stars if it was possible. Now that I have read other reviews all I can say is they are inconsistent at best. Good luck with your order.

Follow up: they gave no reason the day I brought the food back (no one in the truck speaks much English). Which is fine until there's an issue or special concern like allergies or diet? anyway, they also made no attempts to explain or apologize. Now after I post this they replied that I returned the dish after 3 days.

1. it was 2 days.
2. They only open evenings there is no hours posted on the truck. And I went by (2) times in the late afternoon and they were closed (they don't seem to keep regular hours)
3. it was obvious I did not eat any beyond tasting it and searching for the burried chicken leg!
4. Any novice cook could tell that chicken was dried out and severely overcooked (which is why they hid it deep at the bottom). Now I add horrible customer service, and no accountability for what they serve, to my complaints. Wow!?! And the nerve to respond with anything other than an apology, refund or new order. WOW?!? Shame on you Mousam Spice House. Shame. After their reply, I went to google translate. Amazing and delicious food. 5 stars on food and service. Great smiling faces of the people working in the food truck. And great fast service. Seemed like specially made for us food. It tasted delicious and was very hot. The chutney and Momos were absolutely amazing. We had lunch and went back for dinner again, ordered Goat Biryani, chicken butter masala, chicken 65 and some Garlic Nans and rice. The guy also added some more special chutney. It was delicious, all of it. I would visit and get food from here the next time I am in Austin. I would highly recommend this restaurant for every food lover. Awesome food truck, we tried the steamed veggies momos, delicious and freshly prepared. They are open till 2 am, which is great for late night bites. I was in the area and saw this on Google, so I drove by. The menu rate for tea is different from what's on Google. It says $2 online but was $4 when I got there. So I skipped it because that seemed too pricey. I'm taking away 1 star for that. Free parking is available.

Edit: I'm going to update this to a 5 star - owing to the quick response from the owner on the cost of tea feedback I gave above. Although, It would be nice if that clarity was added on the menu, but not enough to take away a star. Thanks to the owner for the quick...
