Prior to eating here I have had some of the best authentic Island foods. This place is the most legit one I have seen on the mainland. The owner and his wife are super sweet, very helpful and oh boy can he cook some food. This place was a true find and highly recommend. If you haven’t tried Island fare, this is definitely the place to start and if you are craving tastes and flavors of island food, this will certainly satisfy that need! Cannot say enough about the absolute perfection and balance of flavor. I had jerk chicken, the goat curry , fritters and plantains w rice. All were absolutely some of the best I have had. Update: this was one of our favorite places to eat while it was at Ani’s, and we were beyond thrilled to finally get it back at Hi Sign. Food is just as awesome, we have had almost everything on the menu by now and literally nothing is a miss.

I will say the menu on the side of the truck is pretty hard to read with the angle of the light, and I personally preferred Ani’s over Hi Sign as a location, but those are minor details as there are plenty of places around the area to sit and have a drink.

We just finished the Yawdy taco and the Yea Mon jerk chicken sandwich and wow that was fantastic. My husband said this will be a sandwich he will crave later. So good, thank you!! Next time I’ll get two tacos, one...

They offer two vegetarian tacos along with yucca chips and corn fritters. The Yawdy was a little bit too BBQ flavoured for me but still a great portion and filled with fun incredients. I preferred the Yucatan- it had nice flavors with pineapple and red onion.

The fried yucca was fun and had a delicous chimichurri sauce. But my favourite were the crispy sweet corn fritters with chipotle mayo. I probably should have just ordered like three of those - they were perfectly crispy with big chunks of corn and other delightful peppers. Wow they were really good.

The food is very affordable and outside of Hi Sign brewery which is super fun. Would definitely order those corn...
