This is the only place that I go to regularly where it really feels like you’re having a home-cooked meal. The dishes, here are always fresh, well seasoned, and very delicious. The sides are in abundance and are all really good. The assortment of salads they have are awesome. I’ve already been here three times in the past week and I’m still not sick of them!

Everything here is made in-house. It is a family owned business, and they all work there, the mother makes the absolute best desserts. I have so many favorites like the coconut baklava, pistachio, baklava, birds nest with cashews, The walnut baklava, And I recently tried two other desserts That were phenomenal. One was filo Baklava dough with rosewater custard inside made specially for Ramadan the last week of March. OMG I bought two pieces and have them when I went home and they were so good. I went back the next day and bought four more. And I just tried sweet Filo dough with the cheese, you put that in the toaster oven to crisp it up and OMG it’s like Sweet n Savory! I am type two diabetic, and I am in fricking trouble.

Every day they have a highlighted dish, Today it was spicy chicken with spicy rice and it was so delicious. I love the healthy sides and salads, the portions here are always like Thanksgiving. I always get theFattoush, cabbage salad, cucumber salad, and it’s the only place where I eat beets. Their baba ghanouj is really smoky good and their hummus is always delicious.

I cannot get enough of their rice, even though I try and reduce the carbs, their rice Has a real nice subtle and nutty flavor to it. Also love the lamb dishes As well as the Gyro and chicken Shawarma, which they put on a spit.

Service here is always been friendly and professional and very courteous. It’s a wonderful family affair and places like these are few and far between nowadays. I’m telling you when I come I feel like it’s a Thanksgiving dinner being served by family. I have taken several of my friends and visitors here and all of them rave about...

I was looking for a good half hour for a place to eat that both my wife and I would like with a decent price range. My wife wasn't in the mood for Mexican, and we were trying to find someplace new. My wife wasn't in the mood for anything heavy, like fried chicken, burgers or pizza. My wife wasn't in the mood for Italian. Last time I went to a Cajun restaurant my food was undercooked, so I didn't want that... My wife wasn't in the mood for thai, I wasn't in the mood for salads, but it was getting to a point I really wasn't caring any more. I was about to go to one of those salad places where it has a really nice atmosphere, but they charge 18 dollars for a little salad... When I stumbled upon Peace Bakery and Deli... The reviews were overall really good! And one guy on reddit said it was an amazing place to eat 2 years ago! The menu looked really good! We locked in! We got there 20 minutes before closing, and ordered our food to go. The store clerk was awesome, and had a very pleasant conversation about my t-shirt, that had a picture of Ace Ventura Pet Detective. The staff was amazing, the place looked amazing, the food was still piping hot, and the pastries were delicious. My wife and I found a new favorite...

5 stars for their desserts, 2-3 for their savory food.

Sweets: The baklava and kunafeh were excellent. We got some bakalava takeaway for our friends for later, and they enjoyed it too. For about 6 pieces of baklava and one serving kunafeh, it was about $15-20, which is reasonable given how delicious they tasted. The custard kunafeh was slightly crunchy, slightly sweet with syrup drizzled on top, and just warm dessert goodness. They also had a cheese knafeh which we will try next time when we are back with a sweet tooth craving.😋

3 stars for the food. We got a plate each with one main (falafel, mix meats) and two halves of sides, which were served with khubooz (Arabic bread). The tabouleh was fresh and well balanced (no extra sharp flavor from the parsley) and the hummus was simple and good. The falafel were made fresh, and tasted good but the exterior was too deep fried and too shell-like rather than a barely there crunchy cover. The meats were also not very well seasoned. Overall, for a falafel/shawarma wrap/plate, we will likely not return as there are other options in the area with better offerings at similar price points. But, we will definitely be back for their...

Located in central Austin, Peace Bakery Deli serves middle eastern eats and sweets. It is located in a plaza so plenty of parking in the shared lot with the other businesses. This is a family-owned restaurant, with not only the typical middle eastern dishes (shawarma, kabobs), but also daily special menu items, which makes things even harder to decide what to get! You can find the information for their food specials online, seems like they update it on a regular basis. I was also pretty impressed by the wide variety of side dishes including dips and salads. I ordered the BBQ lamb shank special which included two 1/2 sides. I also ordered an additional two 1/2 sides. The side portions are actually surprisingly large even for a small. This total came out to be ~$18 which is such a steal considering the portion sizes. Overall, the food was delicious, makes you feel like you're eating relatively healthy. The lamb shank was deliciously tender. The staff are also incredibly friendly. The noise level is low. Don't skip on dessert, but you probably don't me to tell you that after you take once glance at the impressive display of baklava and other sweets.

One problem I’ve encountered as a self-anointed Shawarma connoisseur is that some places sell Shawarma that doesn’t involve cooking the meat on a spit. The word “Shawarma” pretty much means “rotisserie,”so I think spit-roasting is essential. It’s not that hard to tell when the meat’s cooked on a regular grill Thankfully, Peace Bakery is the answer. You can tell the meat is spit-roasted from its great charred flavor. Their toum’s got the right consistency and potency. The Palestinian Bread is soft and pairs well. While it can get dry, I think it all generally works well together. With all that being said, I think their biggest standout is their service. I placed the order pictured in my review on DoorDash. It’s easy for restaurants to care less about faceless delivery customers and rare for restaurants to part with extra food. But here they are, offering me extra shawarma meat when they didn’t have to make up for anything. I like toasty bits more than the average person, lol. Win-win for me and kudos to them!
