The Late Great Anthony Bourdain one said " "In my way of thinking, in the hierarchy of delicious, slurpy stuff in a bowl, bun bo hue is at the very top. I would definitely bring a date for bun bo hue. Because if she doesn't like this, there's no hope of a relationship. If she said, 'Oh, I don't know, there's blood and stuff in there,' that would be a relationship-ender to me." Excellent Food. Great Service. Clean. One of the best bowls of Bun Bo Hue I've had in Austin. Top 1 or 2 for sure. I won't name the other place which is about as good, but I could name about 10 places that claim they make "Bun Bo Hue" but use Pho broth with Bun bo Hue Noodles. ! This Bun Bo Hue had the right color, richness, spiciness from the Anato seeds and lemongrass. The meat cuts were good with Cha Lua, Bloodcake, Brisket, steak and very delicious well Pork Hock cooked to a gelatinous tender that was like jello and Gummy bear. You might be thinking gross! But it was tender and not gristlely. Do yourself a favor and order it straight with no omissions. Pho was par for the course. Typical of most places, way too much noodle but it suits the general western palette. Pho Broth was a solid and that's the important thing. Generous portions on the garnish. Quick time from order to table. Good for Lunch. Seating is standard tables of 4 maximum so its nice if you don't like bench or...
Read moreI have never tried the food here but will never come here, even for free… One of our fellow Vietnamese worked for them for 4 days. There was arguments/conflicts between the employees and the guy has already left. They promised to pay him for his 4 days of working but they did not keep their promise. They gave him a check but then they cancel the transaction when the guy tried to cashed out his salary. They sent a text with threatening statements said that “Don’t dare to stay around Austin”. It is hilarious that now when my fellow posted on social media (Facebook) to ask for the salary, the owner said that he should “come straight to the store” to take it after all kinds of threats.
Being a migrant Vietnamese, I feel terrible about how nasty the owner is. He or she does not deserve to run a business. He or she is cruel and should not get any support from the customer. If you come here to eat, you are indirectly contributing to a person who lost their humanity. I don’t care who was wrong in those conflicts (according to the owner) but all I care is if you hire someone to work, you have RESPONSIBILITY to PAY THEM! I’m telling the guy to open a case go against this behavior and also work with the labor department to get back his salary. Or the owner should just read all of these carefully and have a right action if you still care about your business....

But the foods taste are worst than ever. Salty and running.
Oh BTW, if you and your guests are non-smoking type...this place is definitely not for you or your guests. Because the cook and the servers are also a heavy smoker. It is a turn off point for us. And the service are still not improved. Usually you will never get visit after your foods came out. No body care!
