Pops Crawfish — Restaurant in Austin

What an awesome place. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My wife and I drive to Lake Charles on a regular basis just for crawfish. Nothing west of Louisiana compares in Texas until we found Pops. We have tried numerous places just to be disappointed. We were greeted immediately with smiles. It felt like we were already friends. We started with 5lbs of their regular to split and sample. After just a few crawfish we knew we found our crawfish home in Austin. After we completed the 5lbs, we promptly ordered two more 3lb platters. My wife likes their regular spice which they a rate a 5 out of 10. I opted for the 8. Wow, I was not disappointed. The 8 kicked it up a notch ( next visit I will try the 9 and maybe the 10 ). As we kicked back after we each finished our 3lbs. I said I need more. So we ordered 2 more 1lb plates each. The crawfish were big, juicy and easy to peel. Their prices are cheap compared to brick and mortar stores which are wanting as much as $17/lb. There are plenty of places to sit either inside or out, we chose the covered patio. There is a full service bar for drinks and beer. I highly recommend...

awesome crawfish food truck. a lot of seating around even indoor if weather is not good. a playground nearby for the kids and it's also pet friendly. the staffs are super friendly , they came over to check on us many times to make sure we got everything we need.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the ONLY place you can get crawfish worth eating in Austin.

The wife and I moved from the Gulf Coast a few years back and have been having one hell of a time trying to fill the hole that only crawfish could, and until now we had almost given up hope of ever rediscovering that lost crustacean love.
