Rock House Bar and Trailer Park — Restaurant in Austin

I wanted to like this place so bad. The interior is super well decorated and the backyard/patio is beautiful with so many games to play. The food they serve at Rock House is excellent, but they also have great food trucks outside too. The 3 star review is for the human atmosphere unfortunately. I’ve been twice and each time I’ve been with a friend who is equally as uncomfortable as I am. The bar staff is decent, but it does take a while to get served and they rarely wait on you if you’re at a table, which is fine—I’m not sure what their protocol is for that anyway. The customers are the main issue, both times several men there had clearly drank too much, there have been heated verbal exchanges that have escalated to the bartender coming to break it up on two occasions. My friend and I can never seem to have a conversation alone here without a drunk man or two getting way too friendly. I get it, it’s a bar so it’s expected- but I think the staff could be a little better about watching how much they serve their customers..because the intoxication is obvious and...

I was visiting some friends in Austin, so they mentioned this bar with cool music, and a bunch of nearby food trucks. The atmosphere is cool, they have a beach volleyball court, and good live music. (The Van Halen cover was... really good. Surprisingly good.)

A place like this is really buoyed by the staff, and the bartender was great. (Sorry, forgot her name, but whoever she is, she was super friendly, even to a new face.) She made five perfectly dressed tequila shots, and the server Annabelle assisted me in getting them to my picnic table.

If I lived in Austin, I'd be here once a week. It's a fun vibe, it's not too dark inside, it's clean, the music is good, and the food options with all the food trucks means you can switch it up.

Also, just because it's worth mentioning -- the staff looks like they are having fun and enjoying their jobs. Lots of places, if you're not a regular, the bartenders and staff will kinda focus on their regulars. The entire staff was just amazing, and you can tell they've having a good...
