here's what you need to know before coming to this location

this location has Blue Bell ice cream to go as well as some beer products and various other products into the go area I can lower many convenience store to go along with Shell gas which will take your rewards program if you have that for Shell

plenty of indoor and outdoor patio covered patio area dining lots of tables staff here keeps things nice and clean

separate restrooms for men and women

pecan pies to go and the usual moist brisket option which is my personal favorite along with horseradish sauce that you can request

Not necessarily a fan of either of their barbecue sauces the sissy sauce or the regular sauce that's got like corn sweetener in it Don't necessarily care too much for that so I usually will ask for the horseradish sauce instead and go to the corner area across from the drinks for the fixings

so for the fixings you got your usual onion pickles but then you got my personal favorite in the corner the jalapenos with some carrots and onions which to me is my personal jam and go to the mix with the meat

I also got black pepper at every table as well as barbecue and plenty of napkins but do keep in mind at this location which is a little tricky to have the forks spoons and knives in cups in the area where you actually order your meal and then walk down towards the fixings area where the rest where the drinks are

that usual Coke products and I think too fancy there so I take took a pass on to drink options there but they do have beer and alcoholic options and to go area you can drink with your food there if that's your jam just like pretty much every one of the Rudy's BBQ franchise

And I'm a huge fan of the moist brisket and he said just get a half a pound and I'm good to go of course Ampere is different options to appease just about anybody's pallet and even pecan pies to go they're a little small mini brown pecan pies and I like to bring my mom every so often

again the ambience sound and handicap accessibility for all perfect with lots of parking to the left and right of this location

treat it out some friends and got together here they all enjoyed the food and...

Recently stopped by this Rudy's location to meet a business associate for lunch. At all locations, Rudy's delivers a consistent, and better than most competitors, selection of barbecue and sides. I enjoyed my usual favs: baby back ribs, St. Louis style ribs, smoked turkey, and lean brisket. All delicious! Beans, coleslaw, and banana pudding rounded out the meal, and all sides were very good. Rudy's has done an exemplary job of adapting to the COVID-19 hysteria! The only negative aspect of the fare at Rudy's is that the rack of baby back ribs is often overcooked on the shorter end of the rack. (It's one of the most expensive items on the menu). You have to be mindful of that, and when they present you with the fare before putting it in your tray, make sure you inspect the ribs, instead of just saying "OK." I frequently ask for a few of the ribs to be replaced, and it's never a problem. I'm not sure most folks know that it's acceptable to do that. The same holds true for anything ordered at Rudy's, if there is anything not to your liking, speak up, and the staff will be happy to fix whatever the issue is. All that said, Rudy's continues to deliver quality BBQ at reasonable prices (for BBQ at least). A great place to take out-of-towners who have not enjoyed a good Texas...

Wife and I have been coming to Rudy's ever since we moved to Austin. In my opinion it's staple because you get quality food and great customer service every time. The best part for me is it's not an 1 hour + wait to get good barbecue. You may say other spots have better barbecue but you won't get a greeting at the door when you walk in. I personally like the baby back ribs and pulled Pork for dinner and of course you can't go wrong with the breakfast tacos.

On a side note they do offer EV charging in their parking lot, and I have a gripe to pick about it. I have an EV and thinks it's great to be able to charge when eating breakfast or dinner. However, there are residents that live at Ellwood Apartments behind Rudy's and drop their car off and walk back. I've seen others be dropped off after they left it overnight. That ruins it for actual paying customers that buy food and hope to charge for 30min to an hour. My ask to Rudy's is to post a 2hr time limit and turn off the charging stations overnight. Additionally it would be great to have the 4 charging cables labeled along with the spots so people don't use the wrong charger and prevent others from charging. To the charging bandits that leave their cars, it's free to charge because they expect you to come inside and enjoy...

Brisket is good, Chicken juicy. Prices are reasonable. Casual eats, great for lunch or on the go, they serve you up quickly with friendly service and can even gas up at the pump in front. Lots of tables in there numerous dining rooms. My only complaint was the ribs. Tasted old/ sour. -2 stars. I noticed the ribs were not from the same rack. Red flag, No they put ribs plate together from different racks, hmmm. You can see from the color alone on the bark there not the same rack. I noticed that and the flavor disparity right away. Was bummed about that, as my brisket has always been on point on prior visits, wanted to like Rudy's .Yet they make that awful difficult if you order ribs 😲. One rib tasted fresh like it should, the others not so good. With so many choices for BBQ/ ribs and previous visits to Rudys I was disappointed and rather surprised with the quality! Might want to toss thos old ribs next time. I guess they make more money selling them tho. I'm kind of on the fence now, feel like I was hustled a bit. It's not the end of the world maybe they should use more quality control, to avoid a repeat for others. Nobody wants to leave a review like this, especially after prior visits but it is what it is.

Summary: great food, great folks, family friendly The details: located not too far from the other Rudy's just down the road, the reason for 2 of them so close together is clear... People really like their Rudy BBQ. Lunch time and weekends can get busy but there is plenty of seating and the ordering process is straight forward and fast. Even with a line of customers, the front of the line is never more than 15 minutes. Rudy's has a lot of BBQ and my personal favorite is the Turkey. Few places make a better smoked turkey that is moist and super tasty. Served with a stack of bread, the turkey alone with the bread makes a delicious sandwich. My two favorite sides are the New Potatoes and the Banana creme pudding. The potatoes are swimming in butter so not exactly a diet food and the Banana creme pudding is not weight watchers either. Both are out of this world yummy just like the meat choices. The seating is picnic style so on a crowded day you may make some new friends. Two thumbs up for a Texas favorite.

I love the friendly atmosphere. The moist brisket I ordered wasn't very moist at all but they did show it to me first and I approved. I don't much care for their potato salad, beans or bbq sauce but their pork ribs are great and their spicy sausage is really good! I get the 32oz cup and usually get a refill (fresh brewed tea) on my way out. My car also appreciates the car wash while I'm here. Its affordable and there is a very cordial attendant there as well. Update: my last review was five years old. Just got excellent service again. This time I tried their loaded "smoked" potato. I don't think it's smoked tbh but I had hot jalapeno sausage on mine and it also came with butter and cheese. The potato was big and very filling for only $10. But the first couple of bites were very dry and hard. So I guess it's because they're not fresh. Anyway I got some extra butter, put it on a flat plate with cut it up then went to town. I love this addition to the menu.
