here's what you need to know before coming to this location
this location has Blue Bell ice cream to go as well as some beer products and various other products into the go area I can lower many convenience store to go along with Shell gas which will take your rewards program if you have that for Shell
plenty of indoor and outdoor patio covered patio area dining lots of tables staff here keeps things nice and clean
separate restrooms for men and women
pecan pies to go and the usual moist brisket option which is my personal favorite along with horseradish sauce that you can request
Not necessarily a fan of either of their barbecue sauces the sissy sauce or the regular sauce that's got like corn sweetener in it Don't necessarily care too much for that so I usually will ask for the horseradish sauce instead and go to the corner area across from the drinks for the fixings
so for the fixings you got your usual onion pickles but then you got my personal favorite in the corner the jalapenos with some carrots and onions which to me is my personal jam and go to the mix with the meat
I also got black pepper at every table as well as barbecue and plenty of napkins but do keep in mind at this location which is a little tricky to have the forks spoons and knives in cups in the area where you actually order your meal and then walk down towards the fixings area where the rest where the drinks are
that usual Coke products and I think too fancy there so I take took a pass on to drink options there but they do have beer and alcoholic options and to go area you can drink with your food there if that's your jam just like pretty much every one of the Rudy's BBQ franchise
And I'm a huge fan of the moist brisket and he said just get a half a pound and I'm good to go of course Ampere is different options to appease just about anybody's pallet and even pecan pies to go they're a little small mini brown pecan pies and I like to bring my mom every so often
again the ambience sound and handicap accessibility for all perfect with lots of parking to the left and right of this location
treat it out some friends and got together here they all enjoyed the food and...
Read moreRecently stopped by this Rudy's location to meet a business associate for lunch. At all locations, Rudy's delivers a consistent, and better than most competitors, selection of barbecue and sides. I enjoyed my usual favs: baby back ribs, St. Louis style ribs, smoked turkey, and lean brisket. All delicious! Beans, coleslaw, and banana pudding rounded out the meal, and all sides were very good. Rudy's has done an exemplary job of adapting to the COVID-19 hysteria! The only negative aspect of the fare at Rudy's is that the rack of baby back ribs is often overcooked on the shorter end of the rack. (It's one of the most expensive items on the menu). You have to be mindful of that, and when they present you with the fare before putting it in your tray, make sure you inspect the ribs, instead of just saying "OK." I frequently ask for a few of the ribs to be replaced, and it's never a problem. I'm not sure most folks know that it's acceptable to do that. The same holds true for anything ordered at Rudy's, if there is anything not to your liking, speak up, and the staff will be happy to fix whatever the issue is. All that said, Rudy's continues to deliver quality BBQ at reasonable prices (for BBQ at least). A great place to take out-of-towners who have not enjoyed a good Texas...
Read moreWife and I have been coming to Rudy's ever since we moved to Austin. In my opinion it's staple because you get quality food and great customer service every time. The best part for me is it's not an 1 hour + wait to get good barbecue. You may say other spots have better barbecue but you won't get a greeting at the door when you walk in. I personally like the baby back ribs and pulled Pork for dinner and of course you can't go wrong with the breakfast tacos.
On a side note they do offer EV charging in their parking lot, and I have a gripe to pick about it. I have an EV and thinks it's great to be able to charge when eating breakfast or dinner. However, there are residents that live at Ellwood Apartments behind Rudy's and drop their car off and walk back. I've seen others be dropped off after they left it overnight. That ruins it for actual paying customers that buy food and hope to charge for 30min to an hour. My ask to Rudy's is to post a 2hr time limit and turn off the charging stations overnight. Additionally it would be great to have the 4 charging cables labeled along with the spots so people don't use the wrong charger and prevent others from charging. To the charging bandits that leave their cars, it's free to charge because they expect you to come inside and enjoy...
