Sí Baby-Q feels like a rare gem that gets everything right. Jonathan manning the truck, was awesome and delivered just the experience my wife & I were looking for, the kind that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. He even tossed in some burnt ends I ordered nearly one of everything, and there wasn’t a miss in the bunch. The moist brisket was outstanding, perfectly salted, and melt-in-your-mouth tender without being overcooked. The turkey was juicy and flavorful, and the sausage was good too. The $12 Smashburger can stand on its own, and is reason enough to stop by. The meats are great but the sides show the real creativity. The flaky roti replaces the usual white bread or tortilla and hits just right where it needs to. The street corn mixes sweet/spicy with an Asian note, which makes it a standout compared to others I have had. The Potato salad is a classic home style and gets the job done, while the smoked kimchi punches through the fat of the brisket with a punchy acidic flavor. The queso noodles are a fun replacement to Mac & cheese and are delicious, I’d come back just for that. This place is easily among the best BBQ experiences I’ve had in Austin and that’s saying something for me, as there is a ton of great BBQ here. The food is thoughtful, the atmosphere relaxed, and the value there is for sure, I spent $70 and got a ton of food, enough to stuff myself till my wife had to roll me out. 10/10 for me

Stopped by Si Baby-Q for my last day in TX. In a world where Monday joints are very few this was an awesome stop. Open 7 days a week even! I stopped by a year ago and they were parked in a different location. I like this new spot under trees. I remember loving the sausage and kimchi here last time but sadly none today. But still enjoyed the other meats. The slices of brisket I got were from the point and probably out of this week the crunchiest brisket bark. The contrast of texture from the melty fat and the tender point was wonderful. The ribs were a little more tender than I like but the sweet glaze on top was wonderful and the pork was still juicy. What I loved the most is the pork belly burnt ends. Sauced up with a sweet chili sauce. Sweet and tangy on top of the fatty pork. I could easily eat these all day. I think it was better than the last time I stopped by a year ago and I’ve already told my Austin coworkers they need to stop by since the office is only a short drive away.

Hidden gem at their new location at Fierce Whiskers. Tried the ribs, sausage, and queso noodles. The ribs were the highlight with a sweet glaze/crust. The sausage was good, but nothing I would seek out like the ribs. The queso noodles were their take on Mac n Cheese but with spaghetti. The noodles were good quality, probably derived from Zoe Tongs. The cheese sauce was really good, mild and without any processed cheese flavor. I'm not usually a Mac n Cheese person with my BBQ but I'd get that again. There was also a little spice to everything, but nothing overpowering or too hot for most people. I already got the banana pudding which was really good. If you haven't been to Fierce Whiskers, give them a try. They have a large field with picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. There are open areas and shaded areas, so take your pick. There's also disc golf, corn hole, and a swing set. Quite a few families with children and babies here. Also dog friendly.
