So full I'm gonna die 😩! Great service UPDATE
What a shame... I have to come and update my five-star review from 5 years ago where I was apparently very happy with the service/food. Unfortunately, now I've got to switch it to one star. If I could give it negative stars I would. Smh... Where should I begin... 🤦🏼♀️ Let me start my saying, I've been coming to this Taco Bell since 2009 when I moved to Austin. Sadly, today will be my last visit. First of all, this whole "real people's jobs being replaced by robots/computers" nonsense is for the birds! It's HORRIBLE! You walk in and everything is awkwardly quiet, nobody greets you, nobody says anything at all and your face-to-face with a kiosk computer where you place your order. No human interaction whatsoever! It's absolutely ridiculous... Impersonal and stale experience. Anyways, I ordered the new grilled cheese steak and bacon burrito combo but when I got it it was so hot I could not eat it and I'm not really that much of a lightweight when it comes to spice but this was hot! So I went back into the store to reread the menu, first of all. Had I missed something? I don't remember it being advertised as something that's unusually spicy. In fact, I don't remember reading anything about spice at all regarding this burrito. I walk in and I stand there for about 7 minutes without a single person even acknowledging my existence! No, "hello!" No, "is there something I can help you with?" Nothing... Sure enough, it does not say anything about it being hot. Finally, a gray haired gentleman started walking towards me and he says, "hi". I start out by apologizing and explaining that I don't usually complain, but that the burrito is so hot that I was unable to eat it. He looks at me and says, "well yeah, it's got Chipotle sauce in it" as if I should know. Mind you, it doesn't say anything about it on the menu. I kindly request that it be remade and he did so, begrudgingly and with attitude. I thanked him again and apologize for the inconvenience and I left. The story would have stopped there. In fact, I wasn't going to write a review... That is, until I opened up my burrito and compared it to the description on the Taco Bell website. This man threw some trash in a tortilla and grilled it! Tortilla chips? Really? It had almost none of the ingredients it was supposed to have, and by this time- I'M LIVID. And I'm done. Please retrain your employees on how to make the items on the menu and also how to provide better customer service. I understand that it's not exactly easy to find good employees that want to work these days, but come on! Give me a freaking break! Waste of my...
Read moreThe absolute worst Taco Bell in the entire world. It should get -50 stars.
I ordered four items. Not one of them was done correctly.
I had creamy jalapeno sauce added to my soft taco which they forgot.
I ordered two chalupas with no sour cream and paid $3 extra to add creamy jalapeno sauce and Nacho cheese. Still had the sour cream on both and did not get the nacho cheese or creamy jalapeno sauce on either of them.
I ordered nachos. Instead of cheese, I got a side of sour cream.
Order was supposed to be ready at 4:30. By 4:45 I was still waiting. The lady behind the counter was purposely ignoring me. Over 15 minutes she told me three times she would be right with me but it was more important for her to talk to one of her co-workers about their plans this weekend. I finally asked from around the corner if I could please speak to the manager and that's when she finally rolled her eyes, audibly gasped, and finally came and asked "Yeah?" I explained my food still wasn't ready and was asking for an update. She then disappeared around the corner for another 5 minutes only to grab a bag that had been sitting there the entire time I was waiting. She then threw the bag on the counter as opposed to handing it to me in my outstretched hand.
Completely unprofessional. My order was 100% wrong and I only ordered four items so this just speaks to their incompetence. Do not go here. Go anywhere else. Even the dumpster in the parking lot. Better service and better food, I guarantee. I keep trying this place hoping it will get better, but after 4 years, it somehow still gets worse. I have never once gotten an apology and I cannot get a refund to save my life. They always give me some sort of an excuse as to why they can't do it. They are not trained on giving refunds or they need manager approval and there is no manager there or some other BS story. It's always something. They will take your money even if they don't have a product in stock and then tell you that they will not give you a refund. Ridiculous. Another $17 spent tonight that is essentially the same as throwing it away in the trash.
I wish the owner would contact me so they could understand just how horrible this location is. I would rather drive 5 Mi down the road to the next nearest Taco Bell because at least they say thank you and will help you instead of making you wait over 20 minutes for an order that is ultimately incorrect. But no manager or owner has ever contacted me and they never will because somehow they care even less than the...
Read moreI am a woman who likes Taco Bell. I think the food is relatively good and cheap, so I want anyone reading this to know that I like pretty much any Taco Bell I go to. Because I generally think it’s fine. But this Taco Bell. This specific location, right on the corner of William Cannon and Brodie Lane, has given me enough joy over the years to warrant a five-star Google Review.
Now, I know I sound like I probably eat a lot of Taco Bell. That’s not necessarily true, but it is my go-to fast food destination of choice, so I’ve been to a few Taco Bells throughout Austin. At no other Taco Bell have I heard the staff in the drive through be so happy and so pleased to be at their job. Every time I go through the drive through at this location, the person serving me is just incredible. They have an upbeat attitude and seem genuinely jazzed that I am in the drive through ordering Taco Bell. I’ve had friends be less happy to see me than these strangers at the Taco Bell. No, seriously, I don’t even get this much validation from my parents.
Now, working in fast food can’t always be fun. So, when I go to a fast food place, I generally expect to get very average service, and even if I receive bad service, I don’t really care because at the end of the day, I don’t want to make a service worker’s day more difficult. But the employees in the drive through at this location consistently prove to me that sometimes it is just really nice for someone to say “I’m so happy you’re here” when you arrive to order in the Taco Bell drive through.
So, I just want to say thank you to the employees at this Taco Bell. I don’t know why you’re all so happy to be at work, but I really appreciate that you share your enthusiasm with those who go through the drive through. Y’all have never gotten my order wrong, but even if you did - your demeanor would forgive it.
