Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Austin

I came to TSC after a nail appointment on 08/15/2024, just to wait for my husband to pick me up. Ordered my drink and the man behind the counter complimented me. I said thank you and mentioned it was my husband and I’s anniversary, left it at that and went to sit to drink my smoothie.

Towards the end of my time at TSC, the same man came to sit close to me and started asking where my husband was, why he was taking so long to get me, commenting on how he should have hurried up with me looking the way that I looked. I was made to feel incredibly uncomfortable, all I wanted was to enjoy some time to myself while I waited for my husband. This behavior was unprofessional and in all honesty I will not be returning to this location again due to the discomfort I was made to feel even after I tried to politely put an end to the interaction and tried to ignore him.

When I entered the store, there was a weird altercation between an employee and a customer and it made me, and other patrons, very uncomfortable. An employee was yelling passive aggressive phrases at the customer, very loudly made a scene, and kicked the customer out of the store. This employee was very loud and seemed very out of line. This was my first time at the store, but I actually left after ordering and took my food + smoothie to go (even though I planned to dine in) because I was so uncomfortable. Probably won’t go again..

Stoped here on my way to Port A for lunch. The location is in a very cute and walkable area with other resaturates and shops. I got an Island Green and my daughter got a Bahama mama, and she said it was very delicious. It had white chocolate in it which she is not a big big fan, but in the end, drink all of it. Then my Island Green was a green smoothie so it not as sweet as the other smoothies but is just as tasty! My kids got the chicken bacon ranch flatbread and said that it was delicious and they said there was the perfect amount of chicken, bacon, and ranch. Overall so yummy and will for...
