Wham Bam, Thank you Mam!!! Boy, this thing was epic! First of all, I’m not really a morning person. I’m probably not even a breakfast person, but this bagel sandwich and smooth strong latte transcended me to a dimension where I was once again motivated to be the change in the world…or at least get to work on time. Let’s start with the place itself, it’s a cute pink trailer with menu laid right out on the side. Workers are friendly and glad to answer any of your questions and make recommendations. The bagels come in 8 varieties (my new personal favorite is Egg, but I hear the everything is phenomenal!) you can stuff ‘em with just about anything your little heart desires! They got more combinations than you could shake a stick at! I got mine with in-house sausage with Morracan spices, cheddar, eggs, tomatoes and the in-house scallion cream cheese! When I tell you…it was the best bagel I’ve ever had!! NY WHO??! They have several meat options/smoked and made in-house and the ingredients are so fresh they would make grandma proud.
It can be tough to find a combination of savory mouth-watering food truck food WITH strong, smooth, local coffee from Little City Coffee fresh roasted right next door! I’m an espresso gal and I need a jolt without the jitters and WOWZA! You can get a drip coffee, latte, macchiato, chai or whatever your heart desires. They even have oat/almond milk and a variety of syrups to make all your caffeine dreams come true! So get off your caboose and get to Wham Bam, because this freshness is first come first serve and with quality like this it’s guaranteed to sell out!
Open everyday 7am- ‘till they sell out! Be there...
Read moreThe food is good, especially the bagels, but the customer service is very weird to the point that I want to share my experience as a warning to others. I’ve ordered pickup orders from the truck through Uber eats twice. The first time there was a wait but I didn’t mind. The problem came when I was actually picking up my order. I got 2 bagel sandwiches as a breakfast and lunch for my long work shift. The guy at the window kept looking at me with a weird expression and asked me if this was an order for me personally. I said yes and he started laughing at me. I don’t know if this was a fatphobic thing or an inside joke or something but I’ve never had someone laugh at me for ordering food. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. I ordered again today and picked up the food from a woman at the window. I greeted her and told her I was picking up. She seemed put out and told me that it’s cheaper to order from the website. I appreciated the info and thanked her for it and said have a good day. The weirdness for me was that she never reciprocated my greeting, never smiled, and didn’t reciprocate me saying have a nice day. The literal only thing she said to me was, “it’s cheaper if you order from the website”: No one has to be super outgoing or smiley but no greeting or reciprocation at all did make me feel a little like a nuisance and after having been laughed at before I really think this is not the environment for me. A good bagel just doesn’t...
Read moreThis place is excruciating slow at.......making a sandwich. And then, it wasn't worth the wait, bagel sandwiches are too bready, and this one is no different. Nothing exceptional about the preparation, nothing original about the sandwich, so its just bland. Also, I noticed they're cutting the sandwiches directly on a stainless steel surface, so a little metal shavings with your bagel sandwich. That alone will keep me from going back, I put too much effort into eating fresh foods and avoid toxins in my food for it all to be tainted by a bagel sandwich with metal shavings that I had to wait 15 minutes for. And the workers have a holier than thou attitude.....umm, you're struggling to make bagel sandwiches and coffee with halfway decent customer service, check the attitude, seriously. Anyway, this place is just another Austin food truck that's overpriced with less than average food. For the money, there is way better, and you may be able to sit in a cleaned, air conditioned dining room and eat comfortably, not some hot, dusty, dirty table on the side...
